It's me again, as Robbo is off sunning himself in Lanzarote. Nick starts today talking about David Attenborough's wonderful career, and Rachel briefly mentions the time when she was at a safari camp and she woke up to find lion prints around her tent. Apologies I thought this had posted this last night.

C2: Challenger Ali Merali. From Northwich, on a gap year before setting off to study Economics at UCL, a keen table-tennis player and marathon runner. Also an apterite, but hasn't been around since February.
DC: Susie Dent and Dr Phil Hammond.

Gerry: GAMBLES (7)

Gerry: INDUCES (7)
Ali: SHINED (6)
DC: UNDIES (6)
OT: CUSHIONED (18)

Score: 45–17 (max 60)

3 away from the contestants but the target surprising evades the studio for the second time in two days.

Gerry: RANTED (6)
Ali: traned
DC: RODENT (6) ZANDER (6) ORNATE (6)
OT: ADNATE (6) ARDENT (6) ATONED (6) DONATE (6) ORATED (6) ORENDA (6)

DC: GUMBOS (6) MOUSEY (6)
OT: BEFOGS (6) BEGUMS (6) FOGEYS (6) MOBEYS (6)
Score: 93–39 (max 110)

Not a BOGEY from Gerry as 6 is the max, Ali BEGS for points but it isn't enough and leaves Gerry knocking on the door of another century.

Round 14: 8, 9, 1, 10, 6, 25. Target: 940.

Gerry: -
Ali: 936. (10-6)*(25*9+8+1) (7)

Round 15: F R E D B A T E S

Gerry buzzes on 3.5 seconds to say BREASTFED which is correct.
Final Score: 103–46 (max 130)

Gerry seals his 5th century with another quick solve. Ali is sent back to Northwich with the goody bag and Nick's best wishes, and lets hope he returns to Apterous soon.

But for Gerry, coronation day looms, with 7 wins and 759 points he is in a very good position to take the No 2 seed slot if he wins with a score of 77 points or more. Join the current No 2 seed, Tracey Mills to see if he can overtake her, or watch on Channel 4 in a matter of minutes. I shall see you next Tuesday. Adios!
