Friday 19th September 2014 (Series 71, Prelim 49)

Post by Anthony Endsor »

Hello and welcome to another Friday recap. :) We are in the midst of an Apterous revolution at the moment, as quite a few players have come through on to the show, and today we welcome two more such players. Paul Worsley is the current champion, having won 3 games so far. Looking to follow in the footsteps of his son Jack, he has some way to go yet but is well on course. Today he will have to overcome another apterite Kieran O'Driscoll. Will this be his undoing, or will he reach the halfway mark to becoming an octochamp.

Countdown recap for Friday 19 September 2014.

Final Score: 108–90 (max 120)

A consolation 10 points for Kieran as he spots BORDERING on 9 seconds.

So it's a 4th win for Paul, as this all apterite clash results in another century score. Kieran put up a good fight, and on another day would have won and set off on a good run of his own, but sadly for him it wasn't to be. So Paul goes on into next week, looking to get the other half of the way towards being an Octochamp. Join Andy McGurn on Monday to see if he can get win number 5. I will be deputising for James next Thursday, as he is on holiday and my Friday slot has yet again been hijacked by horse racing. So it is possible I could be recapping Paul's final game if indeed he makes it all the way. I hope you will join me then. In the meantime, thank you very much for reading, and goodbye. :)

Wowsers, closest I've ever come to a max. In other news, Paul needs some more brackets in round 9 - he's currently a hundred short of the target.
