Once again proving that my geographical knowledge of the UK is fairly awful, I didn't realise this was fairly close to me.

I'll hopefully try to be there.

Jessica and I would be able to come, and as my other daughter, Natasha, has applied and waits for an audition date, will also want some practice and is interested in joining us.

I'd really like to attend this but I'm not sure if the travel will be doable for me. Is anyone here getting there by train? If so, what station are you travelling to, and how do you plan to travel from that station to the venue?

I'm travelling down to King's Cross (on one of the few trains going down there that day), then I'm getting the tube to Paddington, then a train to Reading, then another one to my hotel in Winnersh Triangle, where I'll be there on Friday night. 8-)

Then I'll get there somehow, normally by means of hitching a lift from someone else. ;) :) :D

Great tournament Tony and the team, as always. Very enjoyable and unlike any Scrabble tournament! Many thanks.

My FB pictures of the event are on my Facebook wall here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 9196dcfa6e

Those 30 seconds of music for every round seem to stop rather short of 30 seconds as they did last year. I think Jessica timed them as 27 and a bit seconds. Although it was the same for everybody.

Results now up at http://www.kisekigo.com/corea14/results.html - recaps will appear here later.

Thanks to all who came for helping to raise £225 and thanks to all who helped, especially to Zarte and his anonymous
source for broadcasting the final on apterous after I was delayed from logging in. Sorry the conundrums were
considered too easy this year! Well done done to Jack for winning and ul to Giles for second two years running.

Glad it all went well. But I'm having a bit of trouble working out the tables. There are two tables, neither of which have the top two going into the final. I think we're missing a table.

I wondered about that too then quickly worked out the first table was listed on accumulative scores over the five rounds (which Jack and James on top).

The second table was wins and sum of opponents scores (adding up of all wins your opponents gained). Rob F had the hardest test in playing the players who finished 15th, 7th, 3rd, 9th and 1st.

As deciding the top seeds from a series, on wins then scores, the final was between the two players who got most wins with the highest accumulative score. Giles had qualified being the only player on 5 wins and Jack qualified being top scorer on 4 wins with 532 just outing James and Rob.

Very clever stuff :)

Yep. But presumably since the top two seeds were decided on wins then scores, the definitive order is also based on that (unless there isn't a definitive order), so a table with that order would probably still be the most useful.

First is winner of the final, second is loser of the final and then the rest of the players ordered by number of wins and sos if you want an ordering.
