5 wins now for Dylan Taylor, and all in impressive form. Will he get a 6th?

Not sure why Rachel laughed at 112 being the target, as small targets are notoriously difficult as proved by Leone.
I just about managed 112 with 7x10+50-10-1+3 and there is also a 56x2 way but none are too obvious.

129 is still pretty good though - I had got hantology for the conundrum and missed the correct answer too.
Feel sorry for Leone though - I actually know her, as her husband Noel is one of the top Irish Go players, so can send
commiserations.

AFFINE for 6 as a round beater in the UNFIX round
also AGONIES/AGONISE in the NONAGES round.

P.S. had Dylan got the conundrum, would that have been the largest winning margin ever?

Yep, current winning margin record is 112. As I should know.John Garcia wrote:P.S. had Dylan got the conundrum, would that have been the largest winning margin ever?

SUPER IMPERIOUS STUFF FROM DYLAN THERE
ALSO SUPER BIG CONGRATS FOR BEING THE FIRST PERSON EVER TO HAVE A PERFECT PERFECT FIRST HALF (admittedly, it's much easier to do it nowadays, with there being only 3 rounds in the first half, but you still need the 2 9's first. )
Shame about ANTHOLOGY, and he was clearly looking for GASTRULAE in the last letters too, which would've been brilliant.
HOISTED in round 4, CAPOTE/TOECAP in round 8, NOVENAS in round 12 and GESTURAL in round 13.

I was hoping for an I or E for LIGATURES or REGULATES respectively, didn't see that one though. ANTHOLOGY was a tough one, I had loads of possible answers but not that one, ended up guessing ATHNOLOGY^. Dylan's had it hard with conundrums, even a couple he's got have been difficult for heats. Still impressive performances though.James Robinson wrote:

Interesting that Susie mentioned NONAGES. It's not listed as a mass noun so it should be able to take an S but a while ago, one of Andy's opponents had DOTAGES^ disallowed, even though it's not a mass noun either. I would have thought that if you were unable to pluralise one, it would be the case with the other too.

Surely a matter of opinion? It's a relatively straightforward conundrum if you know the word (and a common -OLOGY ending). We used anthologies all the time at schools in English lessons.Jack Worsley wrote: ANTHOLOGY was a tough one

"Your eighth game, Dylan..." Really, Nick? Are you sure?
Well played again, Dylan. Highest R3 score ever.

I noticed the DOTAGES / NONAGES anomaly too. Very frustrating.

Yeah, I think Dylan corrected him but Nick just ploughed on through! Well played again Dylan; I was very excited after the first two rounds!Graeme Cole wrote:"Your eighth game, Dylan..." Really, Nick? Are you sure?
