Spoilers for Tuesday August 7th 2012 (Series 67 Prelim 22)

Post by Jordan F »

As I lost track of my day numbers yesterday, I'm back on track. Anthea Rata is also on track with her first win yesterday. Can she get another today? She might have a big obstacle in her way though, by the name of apterite Grant Waters. We'll see if he can start his own good track.

Join Graeme for his second recap of the week later.

Great game, well done Grant, a very good and hard-fought win.

CALUMETS in round 1, KORUNA in round 4 and PERLITE in round 11 for a few equallers. I missed the nine though. :x :(

102x4 for the first numbers.
3rd numbers: (100-6)x5-(3x3)-7 = 454

Pffff, gave us a big scare there, Grant. Well done though, deserved winner.

OSCULATE in round 1, IODIZES in round 3, SOCAGE in round 9, ADRIFT in round 12 and GUERDON in round 13.

2nd Numbers Alt.: (25 + 1) x (7 + 6 + 6 + 5) = 624
3rd Numbers Alt.: ((100 - (3 x 3)) x 5) - (7 - 6) = 454

Thanks Jack - that means a lot to me coming from the reigning Champ!!

It was tough I can tell you - I was nervous as hell and was 100% sure I was going to go home teapotless going into the conundrum behind and it didn't jump out at me. I was sure Anthea was going to buzz.

So relieved.

Thanks James. I gave myself a big scare. Really thought I was down and out :o Nerves nearly got the better of me.

When my brain formed the word MASCULE by the way, I think I was thinking of MACULE, but in any case MASCULE is valid in Latin - lol

I knew PINTER was a risk but my mind had gone blank and it was a 29-second scramble. My context was e.g. a measuring jug could be described as a "2-pinter" in the same way a car could be described as a "7-seater" and I saw SEATER being allowed recently but I guess it is all about frequency of usage.

Well done Grant. Probably the best show of the series so far. You looked nervous to begin with but seemed to settle down towards the end despite it going to the wire.

Thanks Chris. The thing is I don't think Anthea was going to declare 9 in round 6 if I hadn't declared first so it might have been a different game otherwise. Declaration order is an element of the game that I often don't consider but it can have a real bearing on a game.
