I know I had mentioned that I had never seen a contestant as nervous as Ian Fearon on Countdown. Honestly, he reminded me of Michael MacDonald Cooper, but he had a different style of coping with his nervousness.

Ian seemed slighly Aspergic to me, very awkward and somehow distant. But I expect every contestant is nervous to some extent - it's more of a case of trying to hide it and not let it get in your way too much.

That's probably a fair assessment, although it would only be very slightly. I've never really got the grasp of small talk and the like, it all seems a bit pointless to me, and I have always naturally gravitated towards avoiding social interaction, and I'm a geek. All these things certainly point to a tendency for Asperger's. Plus the dodgy taste in music, playing slightly too many board games and slightly too long on Civ 4.

I have never been more nervous in my whole life than when I was recording my game - I got into it though when I was a few rounds in and I was a little bit more relaxed.
