Discuss anything that happened in recent games. This is the place to post any words you got that beat Dictionary Corner, or numbers games that evaded Rachel.
So, we've reached the end of another week here in the land of Countdown.
This will be the 100th preliminary of the series today, and I think many of us are hoping that Paul Keane can mark it with an accomplished performance to make it a lucky 7th win.

And to those of you that are heading to Chester tomorrow for CoChest, see you there.
Amazed DC missed DEVIANT in round 1. Also had PERLITE in round 4, BAILMENT in round 6 (only after DC mentioned AILMENT) and CELADONS in round 13. Very disappointed to miss REGULATES while I also thought about POTTERERS but I'm not sure I'd have risked it on the show.

Absolutely. At that stage, nothing to lose and everything to gain. It's a real shame when natural caution takes over. Most contestants are only going to be on once. Might as well take a chance. No regrets and all that.
James Robinson wrote:Fraid not, CONCUR was the darren. Presumably just CRONIC ILLNESS.
Um...you realise it's spelt CHRONIC, right?
Yes, about a few seconds before I saw your reply.......
You shouldn't have admitted to that James. I actually thought your joke worked with the spelling mistake - you know, Keith was being 'ill' by spelling it wrong, so it made sense he was suffering from 'cronic illness'. I thought you'd done it deliberately and that Jim was wrong, but I have learnt to never ever doubt Jim Bentley.

Me too, I wondered if perhaps they had it but politely glossed over it to avoid embarrassing Paul, who spotted it two games earlier.
I suspect that they were put off by having WANKED in the selection - see Rachel's & Paul's grins at the start, and then Paul's TANKED and Jeff pointedly saying WINKED.
INCLOSED was there in the DIOCESAN round, I think.
