Carol...

Post by Helen A »

Do you think Carol didnt seem herself yesterday (Wed 10th) and today (Thurs 11th) on the show? She didnt seem to have as much banter with des as she usu does.

Can't honestly say I'd noticed any difference, but it might have been the end of a long block of filming so maybe she was just tired.

She gets along a lot better with Des O'Connor than Des Lynam, I'll tell you that!

I noticed a slight difference, she seemed a bit down - I was thinking that they might have been filmed after she was informed of her proposed new deal but I could be wrong as I have no idea of the timing between filming and broadcast.

As I said in another thread, there's still a couple of weeks before shows recorded after she was offered that deal are broadcast.

According to a thread on tvforum.co.uk, the shows screened last week were filmed on July 16th.

In her interview with The News of the World, Carol said she heard about her pay offer on July 16th.

If anyone is in a sad mood on Countdown, it's Carol.

However, I know that weeks and weeks afterwards she put all of that behind her and started working for whatever that magazine is called to get her feet wet.

I'm not convinced by the provenance of either of these sources, so I'll stick to what I heard myself from the production team.

What, is tomorrow the last day of filming for Carol (and Des)?

Goodness, she'll be beside herself. Extra positive thoughts, love and hugs for her tomorrow then. *nods*

Yes and she was interviewed on BBC Look North last night at 6pm by Crista Ackroyd. That is viewable on the BBC webspage. Tearful and even bits of Richard - althoug 'both Des's have been wonderful'. Sob! sob!

What an understatement!

"A spokeswoman for Countdown thanked Vorderman and O'Connor.

She said: "We would like to thank Carol for her fantastic contribution to the programme. "

"Contribution"?! :x When are they going to admit she absolutely has made the show?!

I thought you would like that link Steve :D

Someone else actually did a song to do with Carol Vorderman, but it was rude, so it was removed from YouTube.
