Re: Collaborative crossword writing
I posted this to my Facebook, but realised there are presumably people here who might be interested/able to help who are not also there. I'm getting frustrated with a clue:
"Cheerleader's skirt as worn by Victoria one unusual thing (8)" R _ R _ _ _ I _
The intersections are basically as certain as they can be, really, but the various solvers I've tried can't find a word that fits the grid, so it's either something super weird or a proper known or something. Any ideas?
Edit: Thanks to someone pointing out it should be (4,4), not (8), I've got it: RARA AVIS in case you're interested.

I don't really understand this thread. Are you setting these clues yourself or asking for help solving them or what? Anyway...Dinos Sfyris wrote:Faulty cab brake makes for a rough ride! (8)

1) BAREBACK
2) Dunno
3) AUCTIONEER
Edit: Just found this useful hidden colour thing that Joseph Bolas used in this thread:
Mike Brown: "Round 12: T N R S A E I G U
C1: SIGNATURE (18) ["9; not written down"]
C2: SEATING (7)
Score: 108–16 (max 113)
Another niner for Adam and yet another century. Well done, that man."
