Apterous Masters 2011
Hi all
It's February, so that means it's time for the fourth annual Masters tournament. A quick recap of the way it works- a preselected group of 26 players (the eponymous 'masters') enter the tournament at the first round stage. The remaining six places- as well as any spaces freed by one or more of the 26 opting not to play- will be filled by the winners of the qualifying knock-out tournament. As always, invitations are determined primarily by performance on both the show and at co-events, with online performance being only a minor consideration.
All qualifying games and the first round proper will be best-of-3, and with each successive round the number of games required to win each match increases gradually until you get to the best-of-11 final. The play-in tournament will begin on Sunday 20th February, and the first round proper will begin on the 7th of March, and will conclude with the final on the 4th of April. Each round will last strictly seven days, after which if a date hasn't been set to play the games, matches will be adjudicated.
To enter, simply sign up below or send me a pm. You can also contact me through aptomail- my apterous user number is 2- or by catching me on aptochat and saying 'Yo, Neb, stick me down for a qualfying spot'.
List of invited masters (red indicates the invitation has been declined, green indicates the invitation has been accepted).

Re: Apterous Masters 2011
I don't play in any of the other online tournaments, because it always becomes a bit of a drag arranging matches 5+ weeks in a row.
But this is a tournament I love to play in, because of the quality of the field. Plus I don't expect to last more than a week or two.
Please put me down for the qualifying competition.

27 people now signed up for qualifying, and I'm waiting to hear back from just seven masters.

Re: Apterous Masters 2011
Quick reminder that the deadline for qualifier applications is this Sunday. The draw for the qualifiers will be done live on apterous at 7pm, and all results need to be posted in this thread.
As it stands right now, there are 27 people in the qualifiers and (assuming Craig won't check c4c between now and Sunday) 22 masters. If this is the way it stays, 13 players will automatically enter the final qualifying round, with the remaining 14 obviously having to play pre-qualifying games.
