I’ll tell yo mamma if you don’t enjoy the show.

Round 1: M F C O E R N M A

C1: FOREMAN (7)
C2: ROMANCE (7)
DC: FOREMAN (7) ROMANCE (7)
OT: FORAMEN (7)
Score: 7–7 (max 7)

Three sevens floating around and our contestants find two of them, as we are off to a double max start.

Round 2: S R E A D N E Z S

C1: SANDERS (7)
C2: SENDERS (7)
DC: DEARNESS (8)
Score: 14–14 (max 15)

Two sevens again for our contestants but DC go darrenic with their 8.

Round 3: Q I P L A R I H R

C1: PHIAL (5)
C2: HAIR (4)
OT: HILAR (5) PRIAL (5)
Score: 19–14 (max 20)

Three fives hiding away in this selection, none of them run of the mill, and Mary does well to find one and she opens up a small lead.

Round 4: 100, 2, 8, 9, 6, 4. Target: 962.

C1: 962. ((100+8)*9)-6-4 (10)
C2: 960.
Score: 29–14 (max 30)

Nice numbers solve increases it further for Mary.

Round 5: O T S E I V T C O

C1: COSTIVE (7)
C2: VOICES (6)
OT: COOTIES (7) COTTISE (7) TOOTSIE (7)
Score: 36–14 (max 37)

Her risk pays off as she is now two and a score in front of Will.

Round 6: D R N A U S W I F

C1: INWARDS (7)
C2: FUNDS (5)
DC: SUNWARD (7)
OT: WINDSURF (8)
Score: 43–14 (max 45)

Two nice sevens from Mary and DC, but the darrenic 8 eludes them this time.

To WINDSURF is to sail a surfboard with a sail.

Round 7: R O P G U S B I G

C1: GROUPS (6)
C2: POURS (5)
DC: GROUPS (6)
OT: GUIROS (6)
Score: 49–14 (max 51)

Two sixes available, and Mary finds one to seal up the win.

Round 8: 75, 8, 4, 6, 1, 4. Target: 569.

C1: 570. (75*8)-(6*(4+1)) (7)
C2: 561.
CV: 569. ((75-4)*8)+1 (10)
Score: 56–14 (max 61)

And to rub salt into the wound, she beats Will on the numbers…

Round 9: O N E R E D P I E

C1 buzzes on 12 seconds to say PIONEERED which is correct.
Score: 66–14 (max 71)

…and the conundrum. After scoring in the first two rounds, he failed to score for evermore. But it is Mary who will (get it?) return tomorrow.

And by the way, I’ve spent the time to find the show on Youtube.

Looks like the video of this episode was (re-)uploaded today. Will D. Downing's unique strategy is explained after R2 at 7:07.
