After Jonathan Coles retired undefeated last Thursday, Friday's game was always going to produce a new champion; it was Neil Sneddon who had the better of a fairly low-scoring game against Tim Marsh (after two rounds, the scores were 4 - 3, and whilst things picked up a bit after this, the game never threatened to figure in the all-time high scores list).

Neil doesn't quite have enough games available to him to make the finals of this series, but if he wins another three matches, he can return at the start of next series to carry on...can he take the next step today?

H I S D I N G L E

Another win for Neil, but another somewhat lacklustre outing in terms of the scoring (especially on the letters games - in fact, neither player got the maximum available in any letters round, which is pretty rare). Neil will be back tomorrow, but he'll definitely have to move up a gear if he harbours hopes of winning any more games.
