The day has finally come...
MY LAST RECAP!!!
Today is the last quarter final of the tournament, between series winners 'Cool' Dan McColm and Mark 'Sugartits' Murray. Whoever wins gets to play a series-champ slayer who rocks a strong bow game and throws major shade in her opening gambits. Bring it.

*flatter than C4C's reaction to me no longer recapping*
Round 2: C S P I U O I D A
Dan: CUSPID (6)
Mark: CUSPID (6)
OT: SCIAPOD (7) ADIPOUS (7)
Score: 14–14 (max 15)
The Dreaded New Dictionary Additions strike to deny a max game.
Round 3: 100, 75, 50, 25, 3, 8. Target: 884.
Dan: 887. Mistake in working.
Mark: 888. (100 + 50/25) x 8 + 75 - 3 (7)
OT: 884. ((100 x 75 x 3) - 100) x 8)/50 (10)
Score: 14–21 (max 25)
Dan misdeclares Mark's method as 888. Mark ignores everything Dan has said to Rachel and says exactly the same things, just with the right declaration. #awks
Teatime teaser: HEARDOVE -> OVERHEAD
Round 4: S J M E I A N M T
Dan: JAMMIEST (8)
Mark: JAMMIEST (8)
Score: 22–29 (max 33)
First Darren of the day. Here is the JAMMIEST Darren pic.

Dan: MEDICS (6)
Mark: maizes
OT: DECIMAS (7) DECIMES (7)
Score: 28–29 (max 40)
The Dreaded New Dictionary Additions strike again!! Mark, however, is struck by the fact that Susie rules MAIZE not to fall under the restaurant rule, and disallows his plural.
Round 6: 100, 50, 25, 10, 5, 1. Target: 114.
Dan: 114. 100 + 10 + 5 - 1 (10)
Mark: 114. 100 + 10 + 5 - 1 (10)
Score: 38–39 (max 50)
Not the hardest round.
Round 7: R P G O U I R E N
Dan: REPOURING (18)
Mark: REPOURING (18)
Score: 56–57 (max 68)
Dan goes for a dodgy 9, and Mark follows suit. Happily, this is a Dreaded New Dictionary Addition that pays off. And also a Darren.
Round 8: T P R A U O S A F
Dan: PASTOR (6)
Mark: sparta
DC: SATRAP (6)
OT: PASTORA (7)
Score: 62–57 (max 75)
YET ANOTHER new word. A PASTORA is a shepherdess.
Round 9: 100, 75, 50, 25, 2, 8. Target: 395.
Dan: 395. 50 x 8 - (100 + 75)/25 + 2 (10)
Mark: 395. 50 x 8 - (100 + 75)/25 + 2 (10)
Score: 72–67 (max 85)
Also not the hardest round. Still just 5 points in it...
Teatime teaser: NICETALC -> CANTICLE
Round 10: S F E A O B D E R
Dan: FORBADE (7)
Mark: boardees
DC: DEBASER (7)
OT: AEROBES (7) BARDEES (7) BEDSORE (7) FEDORAS (7) REBASED (7) SOBERED (7)

DC: WORDIES (7) WEIRDOS (7)
OT: DOWRIES (7) HIDEOUS (7) ROWDIES (7) WORDISH (7)
Score: 79–74 (max 99)
...but not for long! A surprising miss from Dan puts Mark back in it again, just 5 points adrift.
Round 12: N S H R A E I T O
Dan: HORTENSIA (18)
Mark: HORTENSIA (18)
DC: SENHORITA (18)
Score: 97–92 (max 117)
9s all round.
Round 13: Q N G T U E A I G
Dan: EQUATING (8)
Mark: quintage
Score: 105–92 (max 125)
My last ever recap letters round has its last ever Darren. Fitting. Dan takes the game out of crucial territory...
Round 14: 2, 3, 9, 10, 5, 3. Target: 893.
Dan: 894. (2 x 5 x 10 x 9) - 3 - 3 (7)
Mark: 894. (2 x 5 x 10 x 9) - 3 - 3 (7)
RR: 893. (9 x 5 + 2) x (10 + 9) (10)
Score: 112–99 (max 135)
They think it's all over - it is now! Neither can get it spot on, although it is possible, and with Dan 13 points ahead, he's confirmed as the final semi-finalist.
Round 15: C R U E L F O E S
No one buzzes. The answer was FLUORESCE.
Final Score: 112–99 (max 145)
Neither contestant can solve the conundrum, making it the first unsolved conundrum of this CoC. Neither contestant was at their peak today, but some ugly numbers rounds and a plethora of new words made it tough.
Mark's contest may be over, but Dan has the small matter of a semi final on Thursday. Against, like, me. Not that I'm feeling competitive or anything.
Just kidding. Dan's more of a sanitary towel man.
That's it from me recap-wise, forever apart from the Tom v Matty quarter final I haven't done yet. Thanks to Tumblr, Sparklee.com and, last but not least, Darren Bent. Over and out.

I didn't mention this in the other thread, but when I was at Pizza Hut I also ordered a couple of portions of maize on the side.Round 5: D Z S E I A M C E
Dan: MEDICS (6)
Mark: maizes
OT: DECIMAS (7) DECIMES (7)
Score: 28–29 (max 40)
