Russ: 923. (8+4)x75+7+6+10 (7)
David: 923. (8+4)x75+7+6+10 (7)
RR: 926. (4x10+75)x8+6 (10)

Both contestants are three away on this tricky numbers game that Rachel needs a little extra time to solve.

Russ: LIMIT (5)
David: giblet
DC: MEGABIT (7) IMITABLE (8)
OT: MITIGABLE (18)

Very unlucky for David here as Russ adds five points onto his lead. DC have a seven and an eight, but nobody in the studio gets the nine.

Russ: PISTOLS (7)
David: CAPITOLS (8)
OT: OPTICALS (8) PLASTICS (8) POTASSIC (8) TOPSAILS (8)
Score: 70–66 (max 113)

David needed to win either this round or the next in order to take it to a crucial, and after some deliberation from Susie over his declaration, he takes this round to get himself back within an assailable distance of Russ.

Round 14: 100, 4, 3, 9, 8, 6. Target: 571.

Russ: 571. 100x6-9x3-8/4 (10)

And as both players get the numbers round, it is going down to a crucial.

Round 15: M O T O R C A R N

David buzzes on 15 seconds to say CORMORANT which is correct.
Final Score: 80–86 (max 133)

A very good conundrum solve from David caps an impressive comeback. Russ was unlucky with the PRONATE(D) miss, but you could say the same for David with SILVER(N) so in the end it's a fair result.
