The title says it all.

Recently switched to Chrome after nearly a decade of Firefox and am pretty happy with it. The killer feature for me is synchronized settings, which shares bookmarks etc automatically across all the different computers (I have to switch machines a lot). Also it's somewhat faster and less crashy although not by a huge margin.

It has always been Firefox for me. I tried Chrome once, but it all seemed a bit too sleek, and it made my computer on the whole run signifcantly slower. Annoyingly though, Firefox 4.0 looks very much like Chrome; I prefer the old ways with customisable backgrounds and a novelty-sized refresh button.

I've always liked Chrome (for the very reasons Kai didn't much care for it for [though for me it was still much faster], to each his own), then for some reason Chrome started making my computer slow down to the point I had to hard reset it every time I opened it. Firefox 4.0's design is pretty close -- I mean I still like Chrome just a bit better, but it's close enough and I'm too lazy and cheap to try to figure out why Chrome suddenly ruins my computer.

Personally I think it's awesome that we have enough decent browsers that we can even have this discussion, which definitely wasn't the case 10 or maybe even 5 years ago.

I'm a Firefox man. I haven't really given Chrome a fair crack yet, because I haven't needed to. I use a Firefox extension to:

by just customizing. There's probably an extension to take it back fully, I dunno.

I like Chrome better than Firefox but Chrome's just random and there wasn't much point making it (...or is it... - or is there?) ...I just don't like it! I like Firefox better in that way, but it doesn't have things like Google Translate (or does it?) etc...
I LIKE GOOGLE! Why didn't you put Good Old Google down? (...Or is it? ...not a browser?)

Quite surprised I'm the only one who hasn't put Firefox or Chrome, but it's Internet Explorer for me.

I tried Chrome for a while, but gave up on it as it was crashing pretty often, so went back to Firefox, though after updating to 4, I keep getting a message about an update, which apparently downloads but refuses to install, even if I turn off my firewall.
Lately, not long after powering up, my machine sometimes goes into stasis, refusing to accept input from mouse or keyboard (even ctrl-alt-del), so can only be awoken bu a cold reboot. (This might be a Vista problem, as it seems to happen occasionally before the browser opens - perhaps I should try installing Windows 7, though I don't want to lose my files by doing so )

I used IE before I had anything else, it was slow slow that I could make my Mum and Dad's tea while it was loading. Now, with Chrome, I can't even reach for my Countdown Board Game (in reach of the computer) before it loads.

I miss Netscape Navigator.

However, Firefox 4 isn't too bad, although I don't like its apparently memory leak, and I miss the back button menu.

Edit: Ooh, found the back button menu again.

I don't have a favourite but use Internet Explorer out of habit. I've recently upgraded to IE9 and I've found it has this annoying habit of opening things in the wrong tab. If you open a new tab and try to load a web page in it, it will often load it it the previous tab you had open over the top of what you had in there. I think this might be if you do it too quiickly or something. At first I thought it might be down to me, but it's happened way too often.

I've switched to Google Chrome recently because Firefox was slowing my computer down, and I'm delighted with how easy it makes the job of an internet pervert, with incognito windows:

Just to say, if you really do still use your browser for porn (I mean seriously, get a Usenet account already, it's not the early 90s any more) then you should also run your browser Sandboxed.

Ok true. Replace that with some sort of comment about how people should always use Usenet over websites for porn regardless of what year it is.

Also - Firefox 5 came out yesterday (I got the update notification today). Helluva quick turnaround since Firefox 4, but no visual changes - appears to be entirely security and web standards-based.

Mad. Maybe I'll give it a whirl. Transferring everything from Firefox -> Chrome was surprisingly painless. I like browsers now.

I decided that the add-ons for Chrome were rubbish - pale imitations of their Firefox counterparts. FF5 (4.1 surely) appears to be much more stable that 4 so far, which is nice.

I discovered this about an hour ago while doing some in-depth stalking, and I've never felt less incognito in my life.

I like the quote that IE users are "borderline deficient, marginally able to cope with the adult world". I'm glad they put that gently.

Haha, it seems that the quoted 'research' was a hoax (the BBC has amended the page on the link). Puts me at an even lower IQ than IE users, I guess. I retrospect, the quote I liked should have been a bit of a clue, but I still like it, so shall continue to use it about IE users, I think. In return they can call me gullible.

After just using Internet Explorer out of habit for years even though everyone says it's shit, I've now migrated over to Brave as my main browser.
