Price to return with one-liner king

Post by Jason Larsen »

One of the longest-running game shows is coming back to the UK.

Talkback Thames has tapped comedian Tim Vine to host and updated version of The Price is Right.

The show will be one hour long with an all-new showcase round, giving the top two winners a chance to bid on an amazing showcase of prizes. It will be taped at the Granada Studios in Manchester, the same studio where Countdown is also taped.

A spokesman for Talkback Thames said, "We think Tim would be a great fit for this show. His quick wit and everyman personality will delight UK audiences everywhere."

Veteran announcer Peter Dickson will also return to the show.

In addition, Tim will end every show by telling people to "be safe on the road, and not get hit by a steam train."

The show will premiere on September 19 at 5:15pm on ITV1. All shows that were in this timeslot previously have ben canceled.
