Food heaven and food hell

As the dinner topic generated so much interest I thought I would expand it, by asking what your food heaven and food hell would be.
Heaven: Lobster Thermadore or pan fried Sea Bass.

Hell : Ratatouille or any non Indian Vegetarian dishes.

My fave meal is fillet steak, mangetout and new potatoes smothered in a rich Roquefort sauce. Om nom nom.

My hell would be a stir-fry of mushrooms, tomatoes, celery, leek, turnips, rhubarb and brie.

Food Heaven: Spaghetti with meatballs, mainly due to the fat that you can just spin the spaghetti round your fork, then just poke in a meatball on the end and enjoy. 8-) ;) :) :D :mrgreen:

Food Hell: Anything super hot and spicy. :twisted:

If I suddenly have a squirming baby on my lap it probably means that I should start paying it some attention and stop wasting my time messing around on a Countdown forum

I'd have to agree with that - all those sorts of things should just be thrown away. Hell is also nasty shellfishy things like Mussels, whelks, oysters etc

Heaven: My chocolate bread and butter pudding with extra thick double cream. Risotto (but I think I've mentioned that before).

Heaven - A Roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings

Hell - Calamari, lobster or crab

BTW Karen - any chance you could PM me your Chocolate Bread & Butter pudding?

Wow - I'm going to speak up on behalf of fruits of the sea... calamari, lobster, mussels, soft roe, OYSTERS!! Love 'em! Though did have some disgusting preserved shark once, in Iceland. Revolting. The more I chewed it the more it tasted of amonia. I have no problem with kidneys, liver, brains, hearts either. Not fond of gamebirds that have been hung til ripe.

Don't do grapefruit, licorice, black treacle or (let's not go there again) Marmite. And can't take anything with hot chilies.

Oooh, I love mussels, in white wine or garlic sauce - yum! IIRC I had them in a tomatoey sauce once and enjoyed that too.
Prawns too, but them most people like those.
Any other seafood I can take or leave though. I spent my teenage years in Colchester, and used to go to Maldon and have oysters almost straight from the sea, but couldn't see what the fuss was about.
