All the best New Year wishes and ALL THAT SHIT everyone.

Fuck's sake they've started setting fireworks off now. Has everyone gone insane?

Yes. Fortunately they appear to have stopped now so all I can hear is police sirens. Joy.

Yep, there were fireworks on TV, fireworks outside, so I came to c4c for solace, and there were flames shooting from your new avatar!

But yeah, I'm already insane, but I still pronounce y'all great 2010, however you pronounce it . . . and plenty of shit too, if that's your thing.

It's true!

I live in such a busy neighborhood that I get a street level show every day, regardless of whether it's a holiday or not!

And a happy & tolerant new year to you.

It's good being up here at this time of year despite the snow & ice. A party in the local village hall with over 200 people ranging from 6 weeks to nearly 80 was the icing on the cake.

Next time two zeros will sit side by side in a year? 2100. Less than 90 years to go for anyone who wants to be around to see it. Maybe someone should report back here when it happens. Kai, I reckon you're our best shot. Up for the challenge?

Happy new year all.

The challenge is on, good luck. I will assume you're a fan of They Might Be Giants but, if not, there's a bunch of brilliant songs waiting for you.

Actually I just meant I liked the song from hearing it just now - I don't know them to be honest. Maybe I'll find some of their other songs.

At the risk of triggering the CLICHE ALARM, I liked their earlier stuff better. Here's some:

Don't Let's Start (poor sound quality, the rest are better)
They'll Need A Crane
Ana Ng
Purple Toupee
Put Your Hand Inside The Puppet Head
We Want A Rock
My Evil Twin

After the fourth album they started working with a "proper" band, rather than just the two of them pissing around with guitar and accordion and weird tape loops, and I thought they lost something. But hey, that's just me.

IAWTP! The noughties contained the 3 worst years of my life (2000, 2003 and mid 2006 to mid 2007), anni horribili (sp?), so I'm determined that the tens, or whatever we're going to call them, are going to be brilliant for me and my kids! :D :D :D

Can't agree with this to be honest, but only because I've only listened to the early stuff thus far :)

Birdhouse in your Soul is probably their best known song (and what a song) and i frickin love this dodgy quality video of their performance of it on the tonight show in 1990, to bits.

I really like the way they played with whatever house band was going. You can see how much Paul Shaffer loved playing with them in the Letterman performances that are floating around youtube. When they play birdhouse a couple of years later with a standard rock ensemble on top of the pops, it's in a different key! (which fooked me up for a good 20 minutes when i was trying to learn to play it!)

Also, if you happened to watch Tiny Toons a lot during the early nineties, you'll probably remember the songs particle man and istanbul (not constantinople). It's only been about a year since i started listening to their music, so when i heard these songs along the way i got quite excited that I already loved them 15 or so years ago!
