If your attention span can stretch to a 10 minute short film, this is absolutely great and probably makes laughing sounds come out of your mouth and nose.

If your attention span can stretch to a 13 minute short film, this is, er, OK.

Actually it's probably a bit of a waste of time. :(

But it does have my name in the credits. :)

The fact that Col. Many-Bears Grinder is about to lose to Leviticus Payne in round 2 is a travesty, though. I've KNOWN people with first names that are Old Testament books not named after people ffs

That is outrageous. However, I can't see Col. Many-Bears Grinder getting past Shalom Dreampeace Compost to win that quarter of the draw, so it is possibly a moot point. Personally I'm hoping for a Shalom Dreampeace Compost - Vernon Lee Bad Marriage Jnr. final.

Shalom already lost in round 1. From what I can tell Leviticus is a recent college [American] football recruit so that explains all the votes. I can see him winning the whole thing to the dismay of the entire rest of the internet -- America takes college [American] football way, way too seriously.

Vernon was unlucky to be placed in a very stacked division (though some people are predicting Vernon to win it all, so who knows) and the whole internet is behind Taco B.M. Monster to win it all -- Honestly, I think the Dragonwagon finals are essentially going to decide the entire bracket.

The stone-hearted and unsentimental among you needn't bother watching this performance of a song by Amanda McBroom:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jW7gy42n-k0

For the uninitiated, Amanda McBroom is a cabaret singer and songwriter best known for writing the Bette Midler song "The Rose". (ST:TNG fans may also remember her as the JAG officer, Captain Phillipa Louvois, in the classic season 2 episode The Measure of a Man - the one where Data is subjected to a hearing to determine whether he has rights or is simply the property of Starfleet.) How she makes it to the end of this song in one piece I'm not quite sure.

I particularly like the line "Fucking Lexmark shit" for some reason. I've never owned a Lexmark printer, know nothing about them and have nothing against them per se. It just sounds funnier in this context than Epson or Canon or HP.

I think my first ever printer was a Lexmark. It was shit. In a way I think all printers are shit. There desperately needs to be some technological advance (hand-in-hand with a new attitude to ink costs ideally).

I did watch your previous video, but I didn't know who she was or who her dad was. I consider myself to be (and indeed, am) the entire opposite of "stone-hearted and unsentimental" but the video still didn't mean much to me, but I appreciated your intention so I wasn't going to call you an idiot for posting it! Plus you said something about Star Trek, I don't respond to that sort of thing out of habit.

I'd never heard of her dad before this week either, and didn't know that much about her. It's the song itself that brings a lump to my throat - I have a cover version of it on a Barbara Cook CD, which I'd always found moving long before I knew who wrote it and that the story behind it was true.

True this. You can get a decent enough mono laser printer for about forty quid now and unless you're churning out a novel a day on it, the cartridges do seem to last forever (although to be fair, a replacement cartridge will probably cost more than the printer itself). It's worth checking out what cartridge comes pre-installed with it though, some manufacturers ship them with toner cartridges that are only about quarter full.

A cook out's a barbecue. Not sure what a fucking cook out is - perhaps one where the sausages are put to a more imaginative use?

Yeah, I'd heard of that before. I'd thought before myself that having pi instead of 2*pi seemed a bit arbitrary. Turned out I was right.

Having a Maths teacher who thinks a number from 1 to 10 in his head and tells you to guess it - with the answer square root of pi, (which I guessed) is most extremely infuriating.

Honestly I like tau because it means more geeky math days -- I mean the link makes sense but I think I'd get funny looks if I used tau for 2*pi on maths homework.

For me, somewhat ironically, the first I heard of tau was on pi day this year.

Nice guitar playing. However, "some of my songs"/"a little song especially for you"/"Another little song" - er, dude, where's the singing?

Also, I can't see your face properly in the vids so how am I supposed to know whether or not I should be stalking you?

But, as I said - really nice guitar work. :)

If I'd been the interviewer I'd have been tempted to start asking him stupid questions like "Who is your favourite member of the Pussycat Dolls?" or "Who would win in a fight between Ed Balls and a giraffe?" just to see if he'd answer those with the same soundbites.
