Under the old (2013-15) voting system, we'd have had our best result since 2017. We'd still have got 0, but under the tie break rules we'd have finished 23rd...

1 Italy 298
2 France 286
3 Switzerland 258
4 Iceland 230
5 Ukraine 194
6 Finland 161
7 Malta 128
8 Russia 106
9 Lithuania 100
10 Greece 81
11 Bulgaria 72
12 Sweden 57
13 Portugal 51
14 Moldova 46
15 Cyprus 44
16 Serbia 36
17 Azerbaijan 28
18 Norway 24
19 Israel 21
20 Albania 17
21 Belgium 13
22 San Marino 11
23 United Kingdom 0
24 Spain 0
25 Germany 0
26 The Netherlands 0

In the event of a tie, ties are broken as follows:

- fewest 0s
- most 12s
- most 10s
- most 8s
- most 7s
- most 6s
- most 5s
- most 4s
- most 3s
- most 2s
- most 1s
- earlier performance

Yeah, but how does that tie in with the UK and the other low-scoring countries?

Earlier performance, apparently, so the nul pointers would be ranked by how early they performed. UK wins for that.
cheers maus

Oh I see. I didn't work out what that meant. I thought it meant something like how well they did in some earlier performance rather than being based on order of performance.

I have got one eye on Maneskin's progress on the charts. https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singles-chart/ They currently have three songs in the top 100, including "I Wanna Be Your Slave" in at #5...

If anyone’s interested in experimental HD footage, during lockdown an experimental HD tape of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest was found (minus any graphics!) which they’re broadcasting on Eurovision’s YouTube channel now.

Genuinely fun to see them change the stages round so quickly.
