Best TV/Film Opening Credits

Post by Noel Mc »

I'm looking for suggestions here. I've been making assemblies for my school since we've been closed. They mostly just track my gradual descent in to madness.

I've been refilming intros to different films and TV shows. You can see them at the start of these:The Office (US), Stranger Things, Star Wars and Mission Impossible.

I'm running out of ideas, so wondering: any suggestions of TV/film opening credits which I could recreate?

Best Opening Credits for me is Catch Me if You Can.
Also the Pink Panther films and of course James Bond

I always liked Roseanne's intro where the family are sitting around the table. Might be tricky with just the three of yis.

They Think it's all Over could be good as well. I actually wouldn't mind giving that one a go myself. Could do with a slightly bigger back garden for one or two of the clips though.

This thread was made for me. :-D

The obvious first answer has to be the A-Team. Single greatest TV intro of all time. Knight Rider is also great, and Street Hawk (and it's awesome theme by Tangerine Dream) is an often overlooked classic.

For something a bit more modern, Mad Men would be a brilliant choice. And for a bit of fun, the Spongebob Squarepants intro too. :-)

Just dropping in to say great work Noel. What age do you teach? I admit I only flicked through the assembly with the Stranger Things intro (I mean I watched all the intros but only flicked through that one completely) but mostly it seemed very fun rather than learny!

Excellent call!

Ah cheers Matt! Secondary School age, so 12-18. I just wanted them to have something school-related which is a laugh. I've practically abandoned teaching my classes like. The assemblies are becoming a full time job!

Surprised the various iterations of Doctor Who haven't warranted a mention. Whilst some of the 80s ones haven't aged well, they were remarkable for the time.

Has nobody said The Simpsons yet? Surely they must have.

An update for you: After a lot of procrastination, I finally got round to the intro at about 11 pm last night. I was short on time so didn't have much scope for variety!

Tom Scott has just uploaded a 17-minute video explaining why he adores "Alright on The Night Cockup Tour"... which I get, but I don't agree with.

As a child I was always enamoured with ITV's 2006-08 F1 intro. Slightly NSFW. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpuTxPN ... nnamedCell
