9-00pm C5 Celebrity Big Brother.

Post by Steven M. McCann » Tue Jan 05, 2016 8:59 pm

Let's play a game......if you know who somebody is, score 2 points, if you have a vague idea score 1 point, score 0 points if you have no idea who the "Celebrity" is!

Assuming the list of those who enter is the same as the list on the Mirror's website, a dismal 10 for me. (4 x 2, 2 x 1, 10 x 0)

Gemma Collins - 2 (been on the front of too many magazines having breakdowns for me not to have heard of her)
Kristina Rihanoff - 0 (don't watch Strictly)
Darren Day - 1 (CELEBRITY LOVE RAT DARREN DAY!!! No idea what he's actually meant to be famous for though)
Daniella Westbrook - 2 (Actress whose nose collapsed from all the gak she tooted in the 90s)
David Gest - 1 (Married to Liza Minelli? Not sure what else he's done. Maybe acting? I thought he'd already been on CBB)
Nancy Dell'Olio - 2 (Sven Sven Sven's ex squeeze)
Winston McKenzie - 0 (nope, judging by the description I don't want to know who he is)
Christopher Maloney - 0 (don't watch X Factor)
Angie Bowie - 2 (Dave Bowie's ex squeeze)
Megan McKenna - 0 (what the hell is Ex On The Beach)
Stephanie Davis - 0 (don't watch Hollyoaks)
John Partridge - 0 (don't watch Eastenders)
Scotty T - 0 (don't watch Geordie Shore)
Jeremy McConnell - 0 (what the hell is Beauty School Dropouts)
Jonathan Cheban - 0 (don't watch any Kardashian stuff, although I could probably name most of the family and their current/ex spouses)
Tiffany Pollard - 0 (what the hell is Flavour of Love)
go away xoxo

Curiously 10 for me too, but the Venn diagram wouldn't intersect too much (5 x 2, 0 x the rest). Who do you think will win, Stephen?

Was watching the Mighty Reds putting Stoke to the sword, so have just caught up with this now.
Gemma Collins 2 - Was in the jungle 2014, Tabloids...
Daniella Westbrook 2 - Septum, Eastenders, Tabloids etc...
Darren Day 2 - Love Rat, Tabloids etc...
David Gest 2 - Jungle, Liza Minelli, Michael Jackson etc...
Nancy Dell'Olio 2 - Sven, Strictly, Tabloids etc......
Angie Bowie 1 - Would've been 0 but for the 'Bowie' name.
Kristina Rihanoff 2 - Strictly, Tabloids, Love Rattess etc....
John Partridge 1 - Lottery, Eastenders?
A mighty 14 out of 32, I must be Celebrity obsessed!
The other 8, I had no idea who they were.
As for who will win? David Gest and his amazing hair may go close.

I missed this. I was watching the Big Fat Quiz of Everything. Who won? Maybe I'll watch it next year.

Gemma Collins - 2 (shamefully a vague mate of a mate. #justessexthings)
Kristina Rihanoff - 1 (couldn't tell you which Strictly dancer it is)
Darren Day - 0
Daniella Westbrook - 2 (Eastenders)
David Gest - 2 (He's got a weird face)
Nancy Dell'Olio - 1 (Know the name well but can't picture a face)
Winston McKenzie - 0 (not taking a point for this one as I read his Wikipedia yesterday after someone linked after he was announced)
Christopher Maloney - 0 (don't watch X Factor)
Angie Bowie - 0 (never heard of)
Megan McKenna - 0 (not seen Ex on the Beach. I did enjoy Love Island and this is probably up that street)
Stephanie Davis - 0 (don't watch Hollyoaks)
John Partridge - 2 (the guy off Eastenders #justeastlondonthings)
Scotty T - 0 (don't watch Geordie Shore)
Jeremy McConnell - 0 (what the hell is Beauty School Dropouts)
Jonathan Cheban - 0 (don't watch any Kardashian stuff, although I could probably name most of the family and their current/ex spouses)
Tiffany Pollard - 0 (what the hell is Flavour of Love)

That would've been a pretty good score if 3 pts for a win had come in yet.

I'm aware of the Geordie Shore guy cause some of the cast were on Backchat a while ago - I couldn't tell you any more than that. That's why he's a 1.

And whilst I used to watch Hollyoaks, I also know of Stephanie Davis because she was cast off the back of one of those Lloyd Webber musical searches that my Grandma watched, and cause she was in the papers last year for being sacked from Hollyoaks.

9. I know who Darren Day, Daniella Westbrook, David Gest and Nancy Dell'Olio are, and I could guess from the name that Angie Bowie is somehow related to David Bowie. No idea on the others. No points for incorrectly conjecturing that John Partridge might be somehow related to Alan Partridge.

Actually just in case anyone is composing a Venn diagram, the five I knew were Daniella Westbrook, celebrity love rat Darren Day, David Gest, Nancy Del'Ollio and Angie Bowie. Pretty predictable really.

Mostly the same for me, although I'm not sure I'd give myself a point for recognising someone's surname and being able to guess who they are. Also, although I'd heard of David Gest in the dim and distant past, and was partly aware in the past who he was, it took this discussion to remind me, so if someone had asked me before reading this thread who he was, I might have struggled. There's also a David Guetta isn't there? The two easily confused. And Westbrook - I knew she was the nose woman but I might have Gest the wrong soap (don't wash your nose with cocaine).

Gemma Collins - 2 (always in newspapers)
Kristina Rihanoff - 2 (isn't she with that James Jordan who was a dancer and obnoxious on this before)
Darren Day - 2 (television host from the 90's (some of us are old enough to remember)
Daniella Westbrook - 2 (Eastenders)
David Gest - 2 (He went out with Liza Minelli)
Nancy Dell'Olio - 2(Sven Gorik Erisson)
Winston McKenzie - 0 (never heard of him and he sounds like an arse)
Christopher Maloney - 2(big Xfactor fan and unfortunately he kept getting lots of votes for his 80s songs and became a massive prima donna)
Angie Bowie - 0 (guessed from the surname that she might have connection with david bowie, but guess that doesn't count)
Megan McKenna - 0 (nope no idea)
Stephanie Davis - 0 (nope still no idea)
John Partridge - 1 (didnt know the name but recognised the face)
Scotty T - 0 (another of these reality tv stars.. definitely not heard pif)
Jeremy McConnell - 0
Jonathan Cheban - 0
Tiffany Pollard - 0

Gemma Collins - 2 (don't watch TOWIE but seen her on other shows)
Kristina Rihanoff - 0 (don't watch Strictly)
Darren Day - 1 (seen the name but that's it, does that even count as a 1?)
Daniella Westbrook - 2 (ex-EastEnders Actress, and also had a cocaine addiction, also relapsed a little fairly recently)
David Gest - 1 (married to Liza Minelli? Oh according to Wikipedia he's divorced from her)
Nancy Dell'Olio - 0 (not a clue)
Winston McKenzie - 0 (same as above)
Christopher Maloney - 2 (don't watch X Factor but seen loads of tweets about him and searched him on YouTube to see the fuss)
Angie Bowie - 0 (nope)
Megan McKenna - 0 (what the hell is Ex On The Beach)
Stephanie Davis - 2 (used to love Hollyoaks, not now)
John Partridge - 2 (ex-EastEnders actor, only really watch EastEnders at Christmas and when there is something big going on)
Scotty T - 0 (don't watch Geordie Shore)
Jeremy McConnell - 0 (nah)
Jonathan Cheban - 0 (non)
Tiffany Pollard - 0 (nein)

5*2=10
2*1=2
9*0=0

Having not watched Celebrity Big Brother I'm just going by the names so I might recognise some of these people. E.g. I've just seen that I recognise Gemma Collins from 8/10 Cats.

Nah, I believe Peter, I think he's the only remaining member of this forum who is twice my age (although not for much longer). Why would a man in his eighties know any of this collection of has-beens, almost-weres and wannabes? Really the only one that I would give credence to Peter having even heard of is Angie Bowie, and if I have Peter's age right, he'd have been in his forties when she was "doing stuff" so could well be completely unaware of her.

I still find it a bit surprising. I mean I don't think I've done anything much "age-related" to have heard of the ones I've heard of, other than having a television and turning it on sometimes. I largely ignore the things they're "famous" for, but you just sometimes hear of these people. I mean, people used to go on about Nancy Dallaglio (whatever) quite a lot didn't they? And I did nothing to encourage them.

Haha, me too. I could probably even name half a dozen of them, but some of that is because I'm into music and so...well, Kanye West etc. And for the record, I doubt Peter has heard of the Kardashians as he seems to be sensible enough not to buy into the whole celebrity shitfest.

I don't actually know, but I seriously doubt if any of those will be in it. It'll be the usual round-up of bitter has-beens and people who are only known for appearing on similar shows, I guess.

If Cliff Richard was to appear though, I'd definitely watch. Just the possibility that the weird freak might give away something incriminating about his sordid past would be too much of an opportunity to miss.
