So, we have another new champion, but now it time to commence Series soixante-neuf.
And what an amazing start we are in for, possibly..... Not since Julia Wilkinson, appropriately 11 years to the day, have we seen a person on the verge of becoming an octochamp in the very first show of a new series.
But, we have 7-time champion Glen Webb back on the scene today, and even more amazingly, he has the chance of breaking Giles Hutchings' octochamp record, which he has only had for a few weeks. Admittedly, it is a long shot, with him needing to score 136 points, but he already has a 141 under his belt, so if anyone can do it, he can. Although, probably trying to score 117 to overtake Jack Hurst into 2nd place on the all-time list would be more realistic.
Will we have the brilliant start to what is lining up to be one of the most eagerly anticipated series yet
Back in DC after just over a year since her last appearance during the Seriess 66 finals, is former GMTV presenter Penny Smith.

Glad they didn't rub in CATTIER+S in round 12 as Kevin seems a better than average player.

Very well done Glen, 945 through 8 games is unbelievable (with a slight ouch of being 1 point behind Jack's score), I'll imagine that this will put you among the top seeds for the finals even with the line up we have. Kevin seemed like a strong player too, just unlucky that he had to go up against someone of Glen's skill.

Agreed, Kevin was a highly skilled player and didn't deserve the misfortune of being up against Glen.
But, very well done to Glen. 945 is a fantastic benchmark for this series. Definitely can't wait for the rest of the series now
DOGBANE in round 8, SOLIDER in round 11 and CRISTATE in round 12.

Well played Glen both in today's game and throughout your run. 945 will be a very tough score to beat, even for some of the top quality contestants that will be appearing in the next series.

I lost track of the run, just realised it was the eight yesterday. Very well done Glen, a superb octorun.

Different system. At least he beat David Williams's total.Jordan F wrote:Very well done Glen, 945 through 8 games is unbelievable (with a slight ouch of being 1 point behind Jack's score)
