Spoilers For Thursday April 14th 2011

Post by James Robinson »

So we have now reach the 64th preliminary of the 64th series with Graham still firmly seated in the champions' chair after 5 wins. He now holds the number 6 seed position, and by the end of the day, he should get to no.5, as he needs just 30 more points roughly.

Can he make it 6 of the best :?:

Join me later to find out. ;) :) :D

This has to be just about the weakest week, of both champion and competitors, I have ever seen. The quality of play has been appalling. Are they struggling to get new competitors or something?

(Hi everyone! I have the week off!)

MONACO GRAND PRIX ANNIVERSARY! I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!

Well, Jeff, there were more overtakes in Monaco last year than in Abu Dhabi!

I've had a few goes at the first numbers game:

100, 75, 50, 25, 3, 2 -- 740

Got 744 in the time [(100+25+50+75-2)*3], 148*5 looks the most likely way of getting it, but I can't get that either. Anybody able to get it?
If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

It's like the old days when you didn't have to be well-nigh infallible to win a few games. I think they're trying to avoid making it the TV spin-off of Apterous.

I disagree. Graham has offered some lovely words, like ASKANCE today, and he's not bad at the numbers either.
Mike Brown: "Round 12: T N R S A E I G U

C1: SIGNATURE (18) ["9; not written down"]
C2: SEATING (7)
Score: 108–16 (max 113)

Another niner for Adam and yet another century. Well done, that man."

No-one did I'm afraid. 741 is the best, as you'll see in the forthcoming Robinson Recap later on. ;)

I don't think this week is as bad as a couple of weeks ago, but this series is starting to turn into Series 62 Mk.2. :(

Hopefully the finals will make me change my mind.

CATENAS and SAVANTE in round 2, HOARSEN and SENHORA in round 6 and INHUMES in round 9.

3rd Numbers Alt.: ((75 + 7) x 5) - 1 = 409

Very nice, Peter. A 7-letter-word in a numbers game. Well done.

You've probably hit the nail on the head there Joyce - 21 of the last 25 octochamps and ALL of the last 12 octochamps have been Apterites. While this is interesting viewing for us, it may have turned a few potential applicants off.

Not to mention MORAINE and INGRESS. Obviously Pete doesn't watch Countdown on his weeks on.

Mike Brown has mentioned time and time again that SENHORA^ is no longer in.

How many times has James Robinson got to tell you, SENORA isn't in, but SENHORA is OK.

No he hasn't. SENOR^, SENORA^ and SENORITA^ are no longer in (go with SNORE, REASON or NOTARISE instead), but SENHOR, SENHORA and SENHORITA are. Even though Firefox's wiggly-red-line spell checker seems to think it's the other way round.
