Spoilers For Wednesday March 2nd 2011

Post by James Robinson »

So, following on the Welshness surrounded by St. David's Day yesterday, a bit of Englishness is now needed back in the Countdown studios.

And we have a new champion following on from yesterday's exciting match, in the shape of Nick Adigu-Burke, although with a name like that, you wouldn't have thought he was a Mancunian, would you :?:

I'll be around with my 2nd recap of the week in due course. ;) :) :D

P.S. If Jeff happens to be lurking on here in some guise, UP THE MIGHTY TERRIERS :!: ;) :) :D  8-)

Creep.... Although I agree. I wonder if the smoothest man in Manchester managed to work his charm on her, in a Mick Hucknall kind of way.

Seems to me that every other contestant is either a Customer Services Adviser/Rep or from the Emerald Isle. And in some cases, both.

Glad Michelle won, that guy's insistence on calling 4 vowels straight off without seeing any consenants was driving me mad.

Another tight game today, although there has been one thing bugging me....

At the start, she said she had a 9-year-old son. She doesn't look older than me and I'm 23 :!:

Although, my baby has still to pop out.

My favourite front page headline, from the Exmouth Journal, was:

"GIRLS MORE LIKELY TO GET PREGNANT IN EXMOUTH"

I guess that anyone who needs a fertility boost should head to Devon, in that case.

More on topic, some great games this week so far. Michelle's got a lovely voice too, and I think Nick's headwear might have got on my nerves a bit.

Haha, me too. I was moaning about this to Scott while we were watching the show, and ended up shouting at the TV

Did you notice that she's also partial to French pronunciation? Her "adwut" ('adroit') is along the same lines as your "litraaeaeaeeajj". At least in her case the English word comes from the French "à droit" and she's somewhat justified in the pronunciation. ;)
Mike Brown: "Round 12: T N R S A E I G U

C1: SIGNATURE (18) ["9; not written down"]
C2: SEATING (7)
Score: 108–16 (max 113)

Another niner for Adam and yet another century. Well done, that man."
