Spoilers for Thursday 5th June 2008

Post by Jon Corby »

Hi. Does somebody want to cover the recap for today please, as I'm away in Eurodisney? (Woo!)

I could of course simply do it when I get back at the weekend, but I'll already have four episodes to catch up on, so I'd rather not. Cheers!

Hope you enjoy Eurodisney as much as I did last week, Jon. :)

As for the recap, I'm happy to do it. But if anyone else wants a go, then that's ok by me.

Will there be 4 Octochamps in the finals, after today's game? I certainly hope so :D

ESTUARY and STATURE

Martin
If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

WARTORN?
If I suddenly have a squirming baby on my lap it probably means that I should start paying it some attention and stop wasting my time messing around on a Countdown forum

Not sure about that, but I thought you might've been able to have ORNATER.

Is it me or have most, if not all of the number games in Jonathan's Octochamp run, been very easy?

Also after today, how many games is left?

ORNATER^ was disallowed just a few days ago, and WARTORN^ isn't in either, it must be war-torn or war torn.

HELP! I was just about to re-watch the programme for writing the re-cap, and then realised that my recording didn't work. I quickly started recording from C4+1, but only caught round 2 onwards. Can anyone help with round 1, and the challenger's name? Failing that, I'll wait until catching the More4 repeat, or until 4oD has it available.

Four more preliminary games left after today, before the semi-finals start next Thursday. So not enough time for anyone else to break into the top eight.

No probs, Howard. The challenger's name was Charlie Picken (I think he was a cinema manager, possibly retired, from Northumberland...to be honest I wasn't really listening, so that might all be wrong ;-))

First round was V P T A O S H E P and both contestants came up with the rather good POTASH. DC had PATHOS, I think.

Hope that helps!

Many thanks, Jim. All done now. :)

The challenger was retired, btw. I remembered that bit.
