Good stuff - I did think so as you were on the list of "members viewing this forum" and the votes didn't move from 3-1.
But then went up to 3-2 and no one other than me and Ian was apparently viewing the fucker, so I was just doing some amateur forensics.
Clearly I'll just give up now though as I'm shit at it.

Quick check of their octo runs reveals that Kirk is 1.35% better on the letters, Chris is 2.39% better on the numbers and Chris is a whole 9% better on the conundrums.

My vote went to Kirk. Should be a great contest though.

I hope this isn't a trick poll and the game for the first time in quite a few years finished as a draw :!:

Is it a normal 15 rounder format or something with a twist?

If a normal 15 rounder, it's a really tricky one to pick, hardly anything in it. If it goes down to the crucial Conundrum, I would slightly favour Chris. But on the other hand, Kirk would probably be the more relaxed, judging by their most tense TV games (Kirk's against Neil Zussman and Chris' against Innis) and may settle in quicker with some big words to settle it before the Conundrum, then there's the numbers game, I think Kirk edges it in that department, but it could be irrelevant if they are relatively easy targets. I better not sit on the fence too long though, in case of splinters. I'll pick Kirk just, at a push, going by their Apterous showdowns.

I've not voted as I saw the game being filmed.

It is a normal 15 rounder format, in that there are 11 letters rounds, 3 numbers and a conundrum, and the twist is nothing that's been done on apterous (so far).
You'll have to wait till tomorrow to see!

Not even been done on Apterous :!: :?: :? :!: :?: :?

Now I'm more intrigued than even ever. Ooh, I so can't wait. Another landmark in Countdown history will be upon us soon. ;) :) :D  8-)

The twist is that it's actually Chris Davies playing Richard Pay with Kirk just watching. The winner (out of Kirk and Chris) is just who did better against Richard.

Not really, but with a such a special show coming up, I thought I'd splash out especially. ;) :) :D  8-)

The twist is not that twisty really. It's more of a slight curvature.

Enjoyed the scoliosis but has it never been used for apterous? I am sure the idea was mooted ...

Could make a good variant on Apterous.
Maybe have a choice of 1, 2 or 3 digit numbers.

Was thinking the same, but with numbers between, say, 20 and 100 generated randomly for each round.

Or have a random selection between 1 and 49 and call it Lotterydown.

That's a good idea. (Alt name Lottodown)
