I thought it was quite funny. And I think he was just trying to be funny. She put him on the spot by saying he didn't look too excited, and he just came out with the first thing he thought of.

But other than that why do you think she didn't want to be there? Or do you mean just generally?

A contestant did the deadpan Deeksian humour, but in a way that got laughs and media attention. Has the green-eyed monster made an appearance on this thread. perchance?
I thought it was funny in a typically British self-depreciating manner... and the "prizes" on CD compared to other game shows are crying out to be the subject of jokes, so this is long overdue tbf.

Anyway, Anne set him up for that with her comment... no self respecting stand-up comedian would have returned that serve with a straight bat.
He did well to come up with a funny retort in a split second.

I agree that Anne is tiresome... It's not that she has grown tiresome. Her schtick was awful from day 1. Even Colin Murray or -well- pretty much anyone would do it better.
