Someone on the fb thread suggesting that Paul's five consecutive 8s matches a record set by Charlie in this game

I would assume that 7 8s must be a new record, too. Definitely think the series has improved in quality as the series has gone on, with some good octochamps. Paul has been very good so far, and has a good chance of being octo #9 . The chap today was his best opponent, too.

What about the guy from the other day? He was arguably better and took him to a crucial despite missing the 9 that Paul got.

He was a good opponent, but I think the chap today was better, despite the fact that there was no crucial. He got better words (also thought his invalid words were plausible enough), and his numbers were solid, too, but Paul was on form with the letters which made it hard for him to get close.

I can't see any records for this listed anywhere, but Zarte's record-breaking (at the time) episode from CoC XV started with six letters rounds of 8+ (of which three were 9's!)
