Spoilers for Thursday 27th September 2018 (Series 79, Prelim 65)

Post by Thomas Carey »

You wouldn't have thought it from his first couple games, but Robin looks hard to beat now. How's he gonna fare in his sixth game?

(Stats people: may be getting ahead of myself here, but does anyone know the lowest debut score for an octochamp? 15 round era, obviously)
cheers maus

Has any Octochamp ever got 0 conundrums? He's 0/6 so far.

Ryan Taylor got only 1/8. I think there may have been octos with 0/8 success rates in the 9 round era (Lindsay Denyer comes to mind).
I'm not dead yet. In a rut right now because of stress from work. I'll be back later in S89. I also plan to bring back the Mastergram - if I can find a way to run a timer or clock through pure MediaWiki without having to upload to Vimeo every time.

There was a reason Ryan Taylor only got one though. Because his arms are so long, the buzzer was too close to his body for him to be able to press it, so if he saw the answer he had to sit really far back and it took a tremendous feat of coordination to actually press the buzzer.

At least he has a sense of humour and acknowledges his conundrum inability. But tbf, even though I have seen him play better than today, it does look like it will take quite a player to dethrone him.
