Some horrible selections today - no doubt due to mass consonant picking.

You mean the same habit that got us a 175 max on Friday? :P

The only beater today was DUELLIST/GUILLETS -- did anyone here max the DUELLIST round?
I'm not dead yet. In a rut right now because of stress from work. I'll be back later in S89. I also plan to bring back the Mastergram - if I can find a way to run a timer or clock through pure MediaWiki without having to upload to Vimeo every time.

I did not max that round- the letters were nasty for the most of it, and also the numbers were tricky, too. I did feel for Todd a bit, as he was a solid player and could have got a teapot and win a few games, was just a shame as I think the nerves took over at the end.
My scores for today:
Me:112-57 (Chris)
Me:112-39 (Todd).

Meh, it's still a fact that a lot of rounds have been strangled due to picking 6 consonants without fruitful vowels.

I have been frustrated at the end of some rounds- e.g. what I said yesterday, though if I were to go on, I would probably pick at least 5 consonants. (4 at a very minimum).

And six smalls...

(Actually I don't mind six smalls, but are difficult rounds always a bad thing?)

You mean you wouldn't pick 3 consonants at all!? Would you ever do 7?

Not necessarily, horrible should be taken to mean unfruitful here.

And the 6 small was easier by far than the 2 1L numbers rounds that had come before it, one of them being impossible :-)
