Spoilers for Friday January 30th 2015 (S72 P20)

Post by Jordan F »

We're reached another possible coronation day on Countdown. Tracey Mills is almost the second octochamp of the series, with only Wendy Cooke standing in her way. A win with 97 points or more will also secure her the current number one seed. Hopefully that will be doable considering her lowest score so far has been 97. Let's see how it all plays out.

I was certainly intrigued to see how this episode went back then. After the tough match against Martin in the last game, I was just praying for something gentle for Tracey to get her across the line...........

I make it seven 7s available in R4, I wonder what Tracey didn't risk to stick on 6?

Found 3 alts for 1st numbers in the time and (100-3)x6+1 for the second.

For 15 rounders, yes. There have been 2 zeroes in the 9 rounder days, but 6 is a new 15 round low score, unfortunately for Wendy, who didn't deserve that record, as there have been well worse players than her in recent times. :(

But, well done to Tracey, who deserved octochampdom, and I was glad to give her a well-deserved big hug straight afterwards. :D

Well done Tracey on octochampdom and a good octotal, thought the score line was harsh on Wendy though, and 6 didn't reflect her ability

What could she have possibly done to deserve that?

Congratulations, Tracey! Thoroughly deserved to become an octochamp!

Completely agree that Wendy was a better player than her score suggests. There were much worse players than her in the past. Wendy was just unfortunate to come up against Tracey. If she had faced someone else, she would undoubtedly have had a much higher score.

If ever there were a performance that set a record low score and didn't deserve to, it was that.

Congratulations on eight wins, Tracey.

True enough, but I think the same could have been said for Christine Buffrey - a valid 8 and two valid 7s during her game, as well as a conundrum in which Jeffrey Hansford on steroids would not have been quick enough to get.

Stunning run of wins Tracey. Well done. It's absolutely well overdue we have a female series' winner and you can do that. Good luck in June. Will be rooting for you.

Congratulations, Tracey, there wasn't much that got past you in those eight games, and all the best for the finals.
