Spoilers for Thursday September 18th 2014 (S71 P45)

Post by Jordan F »

Paul Worsley is up to 2 wins, both by comebacks against strong opponents. Will he get a 3rd today, and can he get a clear lead early this time?

Join me for the recap later.

Great spot by Paul in R1 but how did he miss that numbers? Presume he did 3+9 to make the 12 and got stuck.

Glad Paul got BESTED (which I got on my first show) and the third numbers.

Alt method (100-2-1)x(5+3)-10.

Sorry Sam, it helps that I saw it live in the studio, so I knew it was coming. :P I did get it but I was unsure of it.

Can you convince her to come to CO events now she is a Countdown star?

I will have to remember the Ted Rogers to vary the T-For-Tony selection. I was glad both standard method solutions were found.

I'm sure she'd be happy to, so long as she can have Jack tell her the answers again!

PARVENUS in R12

Well done Paul on holding it together at the end of what was probably a really long day. I really struggled with that part of it.

I have just finished rampaging around the house because SCIURINES, my 9-letter triumph, isn't in Oxford (though it is in my Collins).
SCIURINE, the word for squirrel-like, known to many a good quizzer, can be a noun or adjective.
However, I can now go quietly back to my seat and try to hang on to the eminently inferior INCISURES ....
