So, after the "extended" break thanks to the horse racing on Friday, we're back to normal (of sorts) this week, with 5 episodes of Countdown, but on Friday, we start the Series 70 finals

We have 7 places filled already, the 8th will be filled by Andy Gardner, should our current champion, Roy Taylor, lose today or tomorrow or by a low enough score on Wednesday.

Roy has 4 wins under his belt, so if he's still champion by the end of Wednesday's show, then he'll be sticking around for the finals, and who knows, if he manages to stay on until the last preliminary on Thursday, he'll be only the 4th octochamp of this series

Chris Packham will be in DC all week, until Friday, when Mark Foster swims his way in.

Andy is on holiday for the next couple of weeks, so Sean Fletcher, who we'll see in the finals soon, will be doing the recap later on.
