I'll put a bit more effort in because of circumstances.

We have a champ. I don't know who it is. But I do know that facing this person today is one of us, apterite Mark Murray. This is his second debut, first appearing in 1999. Can he win again 15 years later?

James'll recap later.

Not sure that he won the first time ...

Yeah, that was me trying to get it up on the phone in a bit of a rush more than anything. Whoops.

The curse of 252 strikes again as Bobby copies me to miss an easy 10 points!

Loved the back to back 9s.

First time I've ever got back-to-back nines, must be on for a high max today

Too exciting - I think I need a lie down! I make the max 145.

What a game. Great way to make your debut and keep your cool against a strong performance. Bobby might be regretting not practising his numbers in advance of his run because he was right on top of the letters games.

Brilliant game, excellent standard and neither player really deserved to lose it. Game of the series for me without any doubt. Well done Mark, you had a very tough first opponent and did very well to hold your nerve after missing SIMPLETON, which was an excellent spot by Bobby. He must still be kicking himself over the third numbers game. Looking forward to seeing how Mark does.

2nd numbers: (75+3)x(100+50)/25+1 = 469

So both players were from 1999?

I believe he is a tournament Scrabble player. Should do well provided he knows which words are allowable from the Collins dictionary.
