Countdown Meets 8 Out Of 10 Cats

Post by James Robinson »

As you might have heard on the same day that Nick was confirmed as the new host, Channel 4 is celebrating its 30th anniversary next year by meshing 2 shows together for some specials.

And Countdown is to be fused with 8 Out Of 10 Cats as part of this momentous occasion.

Rachel and Susie will keep their places, the regular captains, Sean Lock & Jon Richardson will be the contestants, with Joe Wilkinson in DC and Jimmy Carr hosting. It recorded yesterday, so it's in the can.

And Richard Osman, who was up in the gantry, as he's on the EOOTC production team, has revealed that it will be broadcast on January 2nd. No time yet.

Sounds interesting though. ;) :) :D  8-)

Interesting?

Sounds bloody brilliant to me! 8/10 was getting a bit boring.

What other mash ups are they doing?

Extra Info:

It's on C4 at 9:05pm on January 2, but it's only a 30 minute show, so it'll probably be either a 9-rounder or a shortened 7-rounder, like the celebrity versions of the past.

The other ones that are being done are Come Dine With Me & Made In Chelsea, The Million Pound Drop with something else, Location, Location, Location with something else and River Cottage with something else.

Bumping this, as it's on tonight at 9:05pm. I'll be watching! :D
Maybe later on catch up though.

The other mash ups look a bit crap, but then I would think that as I don't watch those shows.

Not sure if I'll get a chance to see it. I don't have sky plus and Channel 4 has disappeared from my VCR channels. Is someone gonna do a spoiler thread?

I know this is really lame, but I'm expecting to be disappointed that they don't play the game properly.
That does sound lame doesn't it? It will be a Countdown-themed comedy show, nothing to do with Countdown I fear.

In retrospect there probably isn't much of a way to avoid the game itself. I bet they would have fucking tried if they could though.
Anyway not watched it yet.

Hope this wasn't sarcasm. I searched for 8 out of 10 cats and it didn't appear, but thanks.

It wasn't, but I do agree that fusing all the stuff in one, rather than splitting them all up is a bit of a rubbish idea.

Based on reading Richard Osman's Twitter feed, it sounds like there's more than one show being filmed, as there are quite a few guests there.

Amongst the others there are Rhod Gilbert, Lee Mack, Rob Beckett and Stephen Mangan. 8-) 8-) 8-)

He's on regular 8/10 Cats quite a bit. He also used to do open mic at the Lions Den before he was famous(ish).

Yet again this made me cry with laughter. Hysterically funny, and always good to see what conundrums and teasers Damian comes up with (as if FINEGIRTH and LARGEBAPS aren't rude enough!)

IDIOLECT for a beater in one game.

Nice mention of Jack Hurst again! He's getting everywhere that lad.
