Here is the news item on Calendar news on Wednesday on the day of the final. A VFSMB for anyone who can spot Julie T.

Was she the really pretty one who looks like Gwyneth Paltrow?
If I suddenly have a squirming baby on my lap it probably means that I should start paying it some attention and stop wasting my time messing around on a Countdown forum

Thanks for the link Kirk.
Thanks for the link too, Kirk. Us soft southerners don't get 'calendar news'. ;)
Saw my back then anyway, Phil, well done. :)
A choreographed piece for the camera, since we'd all gone in ages before.

The last 2 audience members to be interviewed in that piece, a mother and son, sat next to me during the finals. She told me that her late husband had once won a mug for getting the conundrum in the audience in the Richard Whiteley days.

Certainly the end of an era for the Leeds studios, but at least Countdown will live on in Manchester.
I expect I speak for many of us who were there, especially now that the euphoria of the finals is receding, that there's a rather more tangible feeling of sadness about the move. Even more so having met some of the great people involved in making the show.

They do all look incredibly human, even the forumites! It's good to hear the Final was so well enjoyed and we non-special ones can look forward to June with increased excitement.

Good set of photos Phil.

Charlie looks like he might have put on a bit of weight!?

A few of the photos I took are here - rest assured there are no spoilers unless you'd rather not know who the DC guest is for the finals, in which case avoid pics 2, 7 and 11.[quote]

Charlie does look a bit chubby-faced in that first pic of Phil's, and a bit terrified!
A photographic illusion, though.

On a personal note, Monday marks five years since I recorded my shows - o how things have changed since then. It is the end of an era, but I wish the show and all staff a smooth transition into continued success in Manchester.

I trust that the finals made exciting television, and look forward to watching them in June!

Cheers
