Re: The Return Of Celebrity Countdown!!
It could be that they're waiting for a decision on Rachel Riley's future after that Corbyn T-shirt! They think it would be too much to cancel the already filmed episodes of regular Countdown, so that's why they're still happening, and they also can't make any statement or decision before the baby is born in case the extra stress causes problems.
Obviously I've made all this up but you never know.

No-one says "this Monday" to mean a Monday not in this week. People might use it to refer to the past in any case. "It happened this Monday."Matt Morrison wrote: βThu Jan 02, 2020 10:02 pm this monday is the next monday to exist not including today if today is a monday. sometimes next monday can be this monday.
And certainly no-one ever would use it to mean the Monday of next week if today is a Monday.

Well first of all, it depends which day you start the week on. Secondly, being in the same week is a necessary condition, but not necessarily a sufficient one. You might consider that case to be unreasonable. But if it's in a different week, it's always unreasonable.Matt Morrison wrote: βFri Jan 03, 2020 9:33 am so if it was sunday you would think "this Monday" was 6 days ago?

Re: The Return Of Celebrity Countdown!!
Just watched episode 3...
The first two were ok, but this was a LOT better.
Susie stepping up to a numbers round. Jo doing the numbers board... Nick being encouraged to have a go at a numbers game. THIS is what the fans want. Ye definitely need to do the Susie & Jeff ~vs~ Rachel & Nick show in the next series. It will get higher ratings than any of these celeb editions, and the fans will be talking about it for years! (It doesn't matter who takes on the presenting roles. They could even be unknowns, or former contestants... In fact if you did use former contestants, the whole theme could be that of 'role reversal'.)
Be brave. He who dares wins.

Finally got round to watching all of these. I think Rachel overcomplicated some of her tips, and suggesting that 2 large is the easiest selection - on more than one occasion - is plain wrong.

Depends how you define easy. Statistically it is.Gavin Chipper wrote: βMon Jan 20, 2020 11:02 am Finally got round to watching all of these. I think Rachel overcomplicated some of her tips, and suggesting that 2 large is the easiest selection - on more than one occasion - is plain wrong.

Statistically, more are solvable but that isn't the same as easy. If you look at how many are actually solved (I think Apterous stats have been done), one large wins.Ian Volante wrote: βMon Jan 20, 2020 12:48 pmDepends how you define easy.
