Parking conundrum
We're got audience tickets for November. Is there any public car parking space at/near the studios?
My home is on the south side,
High up on a ridge,
Just a half a mile from
The Scarborough Valley bridge.

Re: Parking conundrum
There's a car park literally two minutes walk away. If you turn onto Studio Rd from Kirkstall Rd it is on the right, can't remember if you had to pay or how much as it was my dad who parked there. Apparently there's some really fine pizza to be had as well if you look around a bit.
Are your tickets for normal games or for Champion of Champions?

I rang them last night, and a really sweet girl said: "Oh, we've just had some new tickets released."
The ones we have are for the afternoon of November 26.

I hope that's not for the CoC as I can't see my new passport arriving by then.

Re: Parking conundrum
They have afternoon (1pm-6pm) sessions on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, back at the car park, I've just had a look on the Google satellite image, and I see there's a large car park on the left at the end of Studio Road, near its junction with Burley Road, and a linear one opposite, on the right.

Do you have a driving licence? I was fine flying Luton-Belfast with Easyjet a couple of years ago using only my licence, don't know if things have changed since then as I've always had my passport on subsequent flights, might as well give them a bell and check though.David O'Donnell wrote:

I have an out of date student card which they took the last time but I wouldn't really like to take the risk. I hadn't realised what date they were due to start (if it is November) and thought it would be in December. Must check with Kate to find out.Paul Howe wrote:Do you have a driving licence? Balls! I just got told they need new photos and a birth certificate because my passport was lost/stolen. I did get through last time with the student card even though it was out of date so if needs be I can chance it again.Jon Corby wrote:Eh - no mate. 25-28 Nov I've been told.David O'Donnell wrote:I hadn't realised what date they were due to start (if it is November) and thought it would be in December. David, you'd better be there, if the CofC's missing Beevers AND you, it'll be lame
" 'I need to see some photo ID', said the check-in clerk, who had the boundless wit, charm and enthusiasm you would expect of a man whose primary employment perk is a nylon tie.
'Really? I'm not sure I have any' I said, rummaging in pockets and pulling out wallets. I had all sorts of identification - credit card, library card and so on - but nothing with a picture. Finally in the very back of a wallet I found an old Iowa driver's licence which I'd forgotten I even had. I handed it triumphantly to the clerk.
'This is expired', he said.
'Then I won't ask to drive the plane', I replied. "
This reminds me of a passage from one of Bill Bryson's articles, collected in 'Notes from a Big Country', which was something like:David O'Donnell wrote:I did get through last time with the student card even though it was out of date

Re: Parking conundrum
Just to keep this up to date.
I had an email from the studio, saying that the November recordings had been abandoned for production reasons, and that I'd be hearing from them about new dates in December.
Still waiting...

As are we but I don't think it can be helped and should be organised any day now. On the upside my brand new spanking password arrived.harry wrote:Just to keep this up to date.

How exciting! Recordings on a Sunday? I didn't know they did those! I'm tempted to go in the audience on a Sunday afternoon now!

So is that carpark next to the studio free or not?
Failing that, is there a bus route from Leeds Train station to the studio?

If I suddenly have a squirming baby on my lap it probably means that I should start paying it some attention and stop wasting my time messing around on a Countdown forum
