Bruce Forsyth albums?

Post by Jason Larsen »

There was a member of the game show community (from my hometown of Seattle no less) who managed to obtain a full, clean copy of the original Generation Game theme song with Bruce Forsyth. My question is, how do you think he was able to and does anyone have that copy? Did Bruce Forsyth have a singing career that I didn't know about? If so, what other songs are on this album? I know for a fact that there is a copy of the Generation Game theme out there but the Internet sites that had this copy are now dead.

Maybe someone like Chris Corby, being an older guy, can help me out with this.

If someone can supply me with a copy of that song, I would greatly appreciate it. I find it to be a very inspirational song, especially for people who have mental issues. The song suits Bruce perfectly, being an optimistic man.

Can anybody make my day and give me an early birthday present?

Thank you!

(P.S. I wanted to start a new thread about this because my last thread has nothing to do with this one even though I indirectly mentioned "Life...)

I don't know if Brucey actually released any albums (surely we would know about it if he had, as they would be classics), Jason, but I have found you this:

http://jinglemad.com/e107_files/public/ ... e_game.mp3

You should be able to right-click on that link and "Save link as..." to download it as an mp3. Enjoy!

The bad news is, for some reason I am not able to access Windows Media Player anymore because the server execution keeps failing. That means I cannot add the track to my library but it prompts me to send a great big thank you to Jim Bentley. I have to ask, where did you get it?

I was able to hear the file directly through Windows Explorer and the sketch of Windows Media Player you see there.

Well, all I can say is it's going to be a happy birthday for me! Thank you Jim Bentley! You're a very nice guy!

Jason, I want you to like me as much as you like Jim. I also want you to have a fantastic birthday.

Therefore, I have another song for you that I have found by Bruce Forsyth. It is called When I See An Elephant Fly. I can e-mail you a copy if you like. I don't know much about it.

There is also another song that he featured on recently on a Harry Hill album. It's called I'm Not Anyone. There is a YouTube video of Harry talking about it here, which I haven't watched, so I don't know if it includes any samples. I can also e-mail you this if you promise to like me as much as Jim.

Matt, it looks like I'll have to download Winzip to reveal your attachment.

No problem!

It's a bit late now but I'll do it at my earliest convenience.

Thank you again!

Let me know how you get on Jason, if you have no luck I could upload the two tracks separately rather than zipped together.

I've just listened to that and found it oddly touching.

This prompts me to ask, Matt, where did you get those? Those are great songs indeed and it's a wonder Brucie did not have a major singing career.

If Harry Hill and Bruce Forsyth were better known in America they could have used I'm Not Anyone on Sesame Street!

I'm still waiting to hear from Jim because more importantly I want to know where he got the Generation Game theme from.

(No offense Matt.)

Sorry Jason, I thought you'd have figured it out from the link - it was from a website called JingleMad.com, which is a message forum for people who seem to really like jingles. I'd never heard of it before, but it came up in a Google search when I was looking for Brucey and it seemed to have the best version of the Gen Game theme that I could find. Glad you enjoyed it and happy to be of help!

I thought it would have just the opening theme but that's even better!

Thank you Jim!

I used a website to search Usenet, Jason. Glad you enjoyed them!

Perhaps me and you and Jim can get together and listen to them one day.

Here's hoping a flight from the UK to Seattle is cheap.

I'd rather take a flight from the UK to Switzerland.
