Well played to both. Never heard of SCRUBLAND though, so I though that was a tough conundrum.

108 not exceptional but leading 68- 8 after 6 rounds, from a possible 68 at that point. Still it beat me in quite a few rounds after that.
If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

Congratulations to that bastard Kirk Bevins on breaking my Numbers Attack record! Well played, mate. I'm especially annoyed as the 190 I got a couple of days back should've been a 200 - the one I missed (the 19th!) was easy and I was really kicking myself for being so substandard.

Still, I've nicked Jono's Speed Numbers Attack record, so it's not all bad.

I usually can't be bothered to play 20 numbers rounds but my dad keeps me in touch with setting me a challenge most times we're both on. I want to get to that magic 200 but if it looked like i'd fall below your record of 194 then the competitive streak in me would kick in and I'd go 4 large etc to win. Now on 197 it's gonna be 1 large all the way until I get one wrong.

I'm sure he'd be too modest to mention it, but I just spotted this one in the Game Browser. The standard of Speedgoating among the top players now is just insane.

Cheers, Charlie and Debbi! I thought I might be able to outdo my old record of 168, but didn't think I could get anywhere near that (I've still only managed 194 on the 30-second version, so this is a bit of an anomaly really).

Two remarkable games, This one where I got all maximums on the letters and numbers, but then gave the wrong response for the conundrum, and then this one where I only dropped one point in the entire game - IONIZES instead of SIMONIZE.

If we're playing the "dropped one point" game, then here's a recent one:

A quality game where both players scored over 100.

This game had some good-quality spots, mostly from Paul:

Let the record also note that he managed the shamefully amazing spot of TERIYAKI in one of the following games which was wiped after my Apterous froze.

(4 x 100 + 25 + 1) / (8 - 6) is much simpler. You were just showing off and sipping some water no doubt. :)

Nice game though - well done.

No I wasn't showing off. The basics were 100x2+25-12, on in other words, 100x(8/4)+25-2x6 and then factorising to give:

(100-6)x(8/4)+25.

Much more intuitive than your method, Dan!

Not really anything to brag about, but Kirk and I just played Apterous' 8000th game, which ended with a 102-101 win for the Bevmeister. We were speed-playing most of the rounds to ensure that no one got in before us, so the standard is mixed, but hey.

Nearly hit a max game against Hurrell earlier but picked up 99.3% of the max which isn't too shabby. I now own the top 3 spots on highest scores and as Ben Pugh points out also the highest percentage of max out of those on the top scores table.

I love the fact I needed a 6 letter word or more in round 13 to get the best ever score on apterous and the max was a bloody 4! From both getting a 9 to both getting a 4 - must be a record in there somewhere.

Just bloody tied 246

http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=9213

But it was against Prime, if that makes it any more special. (Yes it does)

Notable is the round when i was kicking myself with FAUNA whilst Prime got the triple-darren EPIFAUNA. Actually he had a chance later on to pick EPIFAUNA again, with me geared up to get it. Oh well.

I did a custom game before involving Hypercountdown Number Rounds and only got 1, just about , but are there any different techniques to solving these 4-figure targets?

Blimey, nice one, but I'm pretty shit at hypercountdown so there's not going to be much of a challenge from me. Might have a go, though...

[EDIT] 134 for a first attempt, and I was sort of getting the hang of it by the end...sort of...so, er, watch out!

There needs to be a scoreboard for HyperNumbersAttack, though.

On another note, I played a Conundrum Attack challenge with Kirk, the best of 3 games :)

Funnily enough in each game, the end score was 100 v 80 :)
