I'm available a lot this week, just not Monday night and Tuesday I'll be getting my exam results, which will surely call for a drink!

Martin
If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

Good stuff Martin, I'll send you a PM nearer the time.

The first result is in:

Rich Priest 99-78 Charlie Reams

The scoreline doesn't reflect the closeness throughout, it was a very good game and the lead changed hands more times than an arthritic wanker.

Rich makes it into next weeks QFs, and Charlie goes into the Plate. Good stuff guys.

Make sure you post here before your games so we know when to watch- especially Eadie vs Sfyris!
If I suddenly have a squirming baby on my lap it probably means that I should start paying it some attention and stop wasting my time messing around on a Countdown forum

I'm in Austria at the moment, soaking up the sun and about to go in the hotel pool after a couple of heavy days in the mountains. If the schedule allows, I'll be back and able to play my plate match on evening of Sat 12th July, or any day from Monday 14th. I'll try to log in sometime next week to find who's the lucky person to have drawn me.

Yeah, very tough game. When he got ahead with WAZOO in round 2 I thought I'd had it. Very relieved when the conundrum wasn't going to be crucial.

I'm free tomorrow onwards every evening between 6pm and 8pm as that's when my gf is out. Tonight I have some work to do at that time, they afterwards we're off out to celebrate my exam results (I'll post them on the off-topic board).

Having said that it looks like the highly anticipated (by Matthew Green at least) Eadie vs Sfyris bout will take place Saturday evening around 7.30pm.

Thanks for offering to host Matt. As much fun as Jason's well-researched introductions are, you needn't bother for me please! I won one show in series 42 before losing to an eventual octochamp - the end.

8pm is fine Jason, but if we get the chance to start earlier then great - I might have a snooker opponent this eve who I am desperate to put in his place, so the earlier the better. :)

Here are the full classified results for Wednesday's COOT games :D

Jon O'Neill 94-98 Martin Gardner
Ben Wilson 96-79 Matt Coates
Dan Vanniasingham 109-112 Jason Cullen

All the above games were of the highest quality with all three matches going to crucial conundrums :o

They need amending Richard otherwise you would lose a lot of money on outsiders (if this was real of course!). I would be interested in your odds for the Plate competition with Corby, Ben Pugh and Jono in it. I would like to see you give "correct" odds on that competition :D

Has anyone done a recap of my game with Jono? If so I could do one sort of with the letters and numbers not in the right order as I have mine and Jono's words written down, but not the letters and numbers themselves, but in most cases you can work out the letters from the two words played.

Hi everyone, am surprised no-one's posted them on here, but the two most recent results are:

Kirk Bevins 94-68 Richard Brittain (as mentioned on the Wiki and on another thread here)

Julian Fell 101-80 Karen Pearson

I think Ben P's doing a recap of my game (well he said he was anyway...) so I won't say anything else about it for now. Please post game results here as soon as they're finished guys - don't just put them on the Wiki, I know I for one don't check it that much.

Does anyone have the round details for Ben W's and Kirk's games?

I'm going to struggle to do the recap for the game yesterday - my laptop, which as those who spoke to me last night may now is broken, has gone to the shop and they say that in fixing it, they are going to have to wipe everything off it. Does anyone who was in the conversation last night have a log of it (which you should do if you have chat logs turned on)? If not, then sorry to all involved.

Unfortunately I have to drop out of the plate competition because of computer issues, my laptop is broken and it will apparently take at least a month to have it fixed and while I can access the Internet from this computer, for some reason it won't allow me to sign into Windows Messenger. On the bright side this means there's now an even number of plate competitors. Best of luck to everyone on both sides of the competition, I look forward to reading some excellent recaps on this forum.

On the bright side this means there's now an even number of plate competitors. Best of luck to everyone on both sides of the competition, I look forward to reading some excellent recaps on this forum.
Richard Brittain is away on Holiday, so I think that makes it 11 now.

If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

Ah that's a real shame Ben... I'd predicted you to be in the final with Corby and all! I was about to say that the Plate line-up looks possibly stronger than that of the main competition... maybe less so now, but there'll still be some tough competition in the Plate with Corby, Jono, Charlie... and also Karen Pearson! No I'm not joking, she played superbly against me, as you will all see from the recap I'm about to post, and if she maintains that level she could be a dark horse for the title. Go on Karen!

(knowing my luck with predictions, what's the betting that Karen'll be the next one to drop out of the competition... :( )

Can I just say that when there are game recaps, I personally would prefer them to be posted on here rather than (or as well as) on the Wiki - it's much easier to 'play along' with recaps on the forum, and surely if you're making a Wiki recap it's just as quick to put it on the forum as well? At the moment Martin's and Damian's game details are on the Wiki only. Just a request that's all.

I agree with that.
