Re: Spoilers for Friday July 25th 2014 (S71 P18)
Although I didn't take to her at first, the more we learn of Tricia the more I like her. The 9/9 thing was so odd I still feel there must be a story behind it. Weirdly, in her previous game there was another 6 small game where her solution was "different but really the same". And she woul...

The first numbers: She definitely had the body language that she had solved it before time was up and I am sure she would not have declared she had the second numbers if she didn't have it.6 small numbers is tricky enough anyway and I know from experience, it is easy to go around the houses in the ...

Re: You Are The Ref
A quick thought on the MINUTE one. Anyone remember the show where a contestant offered SUNDRIES, pronounced as if it were what one might do to tomatoes? He got lucky, obviously, but if you are going to say that MINUTE and MINUTE are two different words for Countdown purposes, you have to disallow S...

But similarly, I could ask you where you draw the line in the other direction. Is 3*100 the same as 100*3? 100+3 the same as 3+100? They're not literally the same. And what if someone said they had the same solution but they multiplied by 1 at the end? You avoided my specific questions, but I'll tr...

Re: Spoilers for Friday July 25th 2014 (S71 P18)
I actually don't think it's that rare to go round the houses with a numbers solution instead of a more direct way, even if it's not normally quite as obvious as that. If you're at "full stretch" when finding a solution, sometimes you just see something and it works and you don't then notic...

This is all getting rather interesting. Was Anton's comment deliberate? Was the teatime teaser a coincidence? If it was anything other than an innocuous coincidence then I'll eat someone else's hat. Was this some bet that they all made to get things in, or did it result from some genuine hostility?...

Awesome thread. It's mostly been covered, but you clearly need my answers. 1. It's a letters round. C1 declares 6, then C2 declares 6. Based on today's performance, I think it's probably good that Tricia beat Jason yesterday. She seems the better player overall. And a very good player.
