Speed Demon:
Hugh Binnie 52 - 84 Matthew Tassier
Thought I was heading for a predictable defeat until Hugh had a plausible 9 disallowed and I then spotted 2 decent 6 smalls sandwiching 3 musical maxes to turn it around.

I wasn't forced to abstain in the GOTW voting for my game vs Rex. Are we supposed to be allowed to vote on our own games now? Yes. That was semi-deliberate. It was tried, people didn't like it IIRC. Ah fair play. Wish I knew that before I did that image! That must have been right back in the day though, old school apterous like before I joined? Semi-final:
Matthew Tassier 187 - 180 Innis Carson
Great game, 170-170 after 17 and a nerve-wracking difficult final 6 large. Luckily neither of us managing a solution meant I held on for a narrow victory.

Junior: Innis Carson 2-0 Matthew Tassier
Matthew Tassier 88 - 115 Innis Carson
Innis Carson 109 - 71 Matthew Tassier
A double figure deficit within the first 3 rounds against Innis meant game over in both games when they had hardly begun. PISTEUR and SOLFEGE were both impressive and new to me.

Oliver, what should we do in the knockout stage in the case of draws? It seems a shame to decide a numbers tournament on a hypernundrum (particularly since I am probably the worst at unscrambling them of all the quarter finalists :) ), so maybe it could go to a replay? Or are you happy with the hype...

When playing a blind letters game, I think it would be good if the words you type in didn't appear in the notes box. You can't very easily carry on the round "blind" if you've got most of the letters staring at you from the words you've previously spotted.
