Z-Factor

Hi guys just hoping for a bit of input from you and wondering exactly what happened to Zef and if anyone knows of his doings or whereabouts these days. All I know is that his apparent true identity got revealed. Has anyone on here actually met him in the flesh?? and surely he is banned from here??? ...

Re: Claims to Fame

Well, I was the first ever Octochamp of the 15 round format in 2002, and though I'm not sure about this one, might hold the record for most rounds scored in consecutively (scored in my first 52 rounds) BTW, I'm going to post up a couple of my heat games when I'm next home in a few weeks to add to th...

Re: Fan mail and recognition

Well judging by your responses it sounds like I got recognised more than most people did. Was fun back in the day. Though not every finalist etc got as much, know Julian Fell and Willsy got recognised a lot. In response of your message Phil, the Countdownwiki has an extremely gorgeous picture of me ...

Great ones there. Reading this, the David Ginola one is great. For those football fans, some might know that NEIL WARNOCK is an anagram of COLIN WANKER.

Fan mail and recognition

Hi people just thought I'd start a new thread and ask for those of you that have been on before, what fan mail and recognition, if any, have you received?? Can be anything from simple letters from viewers to an extremity. Be honest! When I was on I had 2 memorable pieces of fan mail sent to me with ...

"The main thing about a child with Asperger's (and I'm not talking about serious learning difficulties here, just mild conditions such as may have been seen in certain Countdown contestants!) is that it should make as little difference as possible. If the child has Asperger's, then he's going t...

Re: Retirement

Well Julian obviously its a shame but I understand totally where you're coming from on this. To get back in to the shape you were it does take a lot of practice and I myself don't have the motivation or time to do that anymore. Fair enough about tournaments as I'm also effectively retired though you...

Re: Championship of Champions XIII -- Official Draw

Thought when I read this for a sec there were spoilers and it meant that the 3 from this series in the C of C, 1 of those 3 would have won the series. There's still a bit of the current series to run so who's to say Jeffrey Hansford II comes in, scores 950, is a clear favourite then gets disqualifie...

Re: A few general queries

I meant finalist in terms of series, not C of C's - should have been a bit more clearer. Taken a look at the COLIN line up and it looks more than impressive - good luck to everyone competing this year and no doubt Ben it will be memorable. I doubt I'll ever get back into watching full time properly ...

Re: A few general queries

Zef threatening to make Mike Brown to court?! for what?? he's harmless . Who else has he threatened then? Know I could rely on you Ben to give me the answer to that about finals, forgot about Richard and Andrew. Long awaited return to COLIN? didn't know it was long awaited - things have changed and ...

A few general queries

Hi guys, just wondering who out of here applied for Carol's vacancy for next series. I thought about it, but facing redundancy at work and generally a lot going on I decided to leave it. Not had a look at Apterous yet but will definitely give it a go, congrats on the invention Charlie/Soo, hope you ...

Countdown T-shirt - funny

Saw someone wearing one of these the other day - this guy's T-shirt, had the blue squares on with the phrase "G- F-CK Y--RS-LF" would you like to buy a vowel? on it, saw this once in a funny JPEG photo but never in real life before. Just curious if anyone has seen these before?

Re: Asperger Syndrome

Interesting topic you've started here Mikey. In the 6 or so years I watched the show yes there have been a fair few people with Aspergers on the show, all the way from finalists to losing their first show. I'm openly admittant to having it. Personally speaking Mikey, I did see you play once or twice...

Yeah congrats as well from me David - though I never got to see you play, I viewed your games avidly and glad you won - spoken to you online a few times and you seem like a really nice guy. Congrats on the series win and hope you get what you want when the C of C comes around. TH

Countdown quiz machines

Just a quick one here folks. Only recall seeing them out and about once or twice but has anyone ever had a go on one of the Countdown quiz machines in pubs etc and what the payouts are and if any of the entailments are any different?? Just curious as I've never tried one.

Re: Recap for 24 January 2003 - C of C XI Grand Final

Hi Julian, did catch a bit of the last C of C - just a couple of games though, impressed by what I saw. The series 52 final was great to watch from the audience - managed to wangle it because we both went to Uni not too far away and had free periods if I remember rightly! Btw the way Kirk if you're ...

Re: Recap for 24 January 2003 - C of C XI Grand Final

Gevin - nice to see you posting and yourself too Julian. What you doing these days?? The C of C final, that was spellbinding at the end wasn't it. Great to watch from the audience. The truth is, the competitiveness and the way the game has changed since I were on 6 year ago has changed drastically, ...
