Re: Spoilers For Thursday October 29th 2009

Seen it now. 4OD bailing me out amazingly. Wednesday's episode wasn't there when I did my recap, so I had to keep going in and out of the lounge, just to type all the information out.

GOITRED in round 1.

2nd numbers: (50 - 5) x 3

EDIT: Nice to see someone from Huddersfield win! ;) :) :D

Where do you think bicycles are "meant" to go? :? As far away from the road as possible, in my view I didn't ask you for a "view". You indicated that bicycles are not "meant" to go on the road, which is an objective statement. Leaving aside the question of where you wo...

it's mainly because I think a road should be used for vehicles that are meant for it, not bicycles. Where do you think bicycles are "meant" to go? :? As far away from the road as possible, in my view, although that will clearly never happen. I'm just using optimistic realism there. Someth...

As someone who gets almost everywhere on a bike, I can assure you that the enmity is entirely mutual. Obviously a polite cyclist sticks to the left side of the road whenever possible, but when turning right or switching lanes at a junction, it's necessary to move across the road. Clearly I can't tr...

What do you get if you spread jam on a piece of bread and fold it in half? So, to answer your question about the single piece of bread: In everyday parlance I would call it a sandwich but, in a situation where it mattered, I'd say it is equivalent to half a sandwich. Re: Spoilers For Thursday October 22nd 2009

P.S. I did get all those within the 30 seconds. All of them? Yes, I am starting to sound a bit smug now, aren't I? I do apologise for that. In answer to Matt's question, I wrote it about an hour after I watched the show, but I forgot the 4th method, so I posted it this morning after remembering wha...

Re: Spoilers For Thursday October 22nd 2009

Do you really think we want to see so many methods to an easy numbers game James? You say easy , Kirk, but if it is so easy , why did neither of the contestants get it then? Did you get all these methods in the 30 seconds James? If not, maybe that's your answer. I do agree with you that it's easy, ...

Re: Spoilers For Thursday October 22nd 2009

Here's a 4th method:

75 - 50 - 3 = 22

22 x 8 = 176

176 - 10 - 1 = 165

Re: Spoilers For Thursday October 22nd 2009

Alternative alternative numbers... 50 x (3-1) + 75 - 10 =165 Does anyone not have an alternative to the 3rd numbers game :!: :?: I've got 3 here. 3 - 1 = 2 8 / 2 = 4 4 x 10 = 40 40 + 75 + 50 = 165 (Could've said 3 + 1 = 4, but I did it this way round.) No.2: 50 - 1 = 49 49 x 3 = 147 147 + 10 + 8 = ...

Re: Should singing be banned from countdown

It's a slippery slope isn't it. Start allowing DC guests to exercise their professional skills on the programme, and before you know it Paul Zenon will be doing magic tricks, Dr Phil Hammond will be demonstrating CPR, Martin Lewis will be giving out money-saving tips and Tim Vine will be telling jo...

Re: Numbers Attack Tournament - Round 4

Well played by James in Division A: http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=130751 James Robinson 175 - 144 Ian Volante Thanks for that, Ian. It was a tight game, just a couple of errors on Ian's part, such as Round 2, where he declared the right answer too late. But, on the other hand, I'm now a...

Spoilers For Thursday October 22nd 2009

Well, it seems that Brian had a bit of an off day yesterday. So did I, but luckily Ross was on hand to help keep things on track. Brian is on for show #4 today. Unfortunately, yesterday's show seems to have highlighted quite a lot of his flaws. He had hardly made any mistakes in his letters and he m...

Wednesday 21st October 2009 (Series 61, Prelim 68)

Hello. This is Ross Deshpande-Bevins, filling in for James Robinson this week. James is busy at the Huddersfield Town Reserves v Hartlepool United Reserves match (That finished 2-0 to Jeff's Monkey Hangers by the way.), so I will take over proceedings for this show. By the way, today is Apple Day, s...
