I think the criticism has been unfair. I think the current pace of solutions trickling in is perfect. If it was too hard, more than half would be left; if the words are any more well-known then someone who is a natural anagrammer could solve them all in one swoop, as has more or less happened before...

I agree completely, and there have been many many situations (and a few altercations) where it has been abused. Not for cheating, but it's still wrong. Decide before you start, hosts, especially in such an important game.
