Re: COOT '08 R2 - Priest vs Reams
Good game, well done Richard. This is a minor upset, because some of us were expecting big things from Charles Reams following his impressive victory in last year's COOT Plate, and thus had him down as slight favourite for this match. Nonetheless, he now has the opportunity to retain his Plate title...

The whole of COMA was O-less? This gets more extraordinary by the minute. We now have the possibility that the entire COMA competition will have to be voided, especially if there were any O-specialists involved.
Maybe it's all some sick experiment by Soo Reams.

Yeah, I'd say Benji Hanks and Mikey Lear both have an outside chance of making it due to their charisma and youth, although it's quite unlikely given the competition for places. Countdown recap for Monday 23rd June 2008. C1: Challenger Michael Wallace - A 21 year-old MSc Statistics student at UCL, formerly of Cambridge. Paul Howe, I would agree with those 11. I also think there could be a case for James Hurrell and/or Steve Baines, both of Series 57, and any one of Tony Warren, Stu Horsey and Phil Watson from Series 55. Perhaps I should make a thread aimed at the discussion of the next CoC, since Damian suggested it?

Yeah, good game. I thought Jonathan was one of the likeliest out of all the seeds to beat DoD, and he came closer to doing it than I expected. A very impressive performance by him, well done. Charlie.. A solid performance today by DoD, but the scoreline flattered him because Ben Hanks put in a strong performance bar 2 or 3 rounds. As I've come to expect in modern series finals, the game threw out a lot of difficult letters selections which restricted scoring but also allowed for some exotic words ...
