In St Mark's Square in Venice it is better, if pissed, not to fall asleep on a bench or you may be woken up and moved on threateningly by police with swords. At least I was in 1956.

Yes. Gino is brilliant as a DC guest and what a fantastic find - a man with Italian as his main language on a show that is playing with words in English, but whose smile and personality make him one of the best DC invites IMO.

I always thought that in certain circumstances the referee can actually award a goal even though the ball has not gone in if it would have been a certain goal stopped by a deliberate foul. That would be the fairest.

I think 'game theory' is relevant to this discussion. Best to google it and only read what interests you. Richard Dawkins and Steven Rose write about this sort of thing in various places and Maynard Smith (among others) refers to 'hawks' and 'doves' (as a way of behaving among all sorts of species) ...

Sex drive does not have to have a purpose.
Humans (and I guess other species) who are infertile (sterilised/vasectomised/etc) may also have the 'sex drive'. And what about the use of condoms and other means of preventing pregnancy?

I guess the 'drive' is in your head - your subconscious.
