It's just seems a very unlucky way to miss out on making the finals IMO. What am I missing here? Why is it more unlucky for the chap who scored more in the first 4 of his 5 games, than the chap who scored more in all 5 of his games? It's just odds, isn't it? If the offer is 3 for a possibility of 20 (win) or negligable (lose), then effectively your stake is 3 and the potential winnings are 20, which means you're getting roughly 6/1 for what in reality is a 50:50 (evens) chance. That's a bet you've got to take.

Bit of both, Joseph. I wrote a thing to extract the words ages ago, but I had to do a bit of extra pissing about in Excel to get the + letters (the extras on top of LOCATES, that is). It would be pretty easy to automate the whole thing, but I can't be arsed doing it tonight.

Did DC mention NEEDIER in round 1? I can't remember. Also, a nice alternative for round 5 (25, 1, 10, 7, 9, 9, target 568): (9 x 9 x 7) + 1 = 568.
